“Nice location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

Clean and neat hotel, just what you'd expect from a Premier Inn - basic rooms but in very good condition and well kept. Breakfast was delicious and kept us going for our day of exploring. Beds were very comfortable. Beautiful location, right on the water.

Only negative was that we stayed in rooms 232/234 which was in a far wing of the building, it was a long walk between reception, breakfast and our rooms. It would be helpful if they could put a door to this wing from the parking lot, would make access a lot easier.

However, we would recommend this hotel for a good, comfortable stay.

We always stay here when in Edinburgh as the hotel enjoys a quiet and attractive waterfront location but is handily placed for the city centre which is a 20-minute bus ride away. Staff are friendly and helpful and speak real English as opposed to corporate-speak. Rooms are standard Premier Inn, which means spacious enough but spoiled by having an unfathomable temperature control and a shower in a bath with very high sides, which makes it difficult (and potentially dangerous) for us oldies. A very comfortable bed provided an excellent night's sleep. Very easy access by car and ample free parking. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

Thank you BobPAberchirder for your lovely 5 star review of Edinburgh Leith Waterfront. We do have universal accessible rooms at the hotel. In these rooms the sides of the baths are slightly lower down, and there are also additional hand rails installed in the bathroom. You may find this type of room more suitable for you next time you are staying at Premier Inn to make your experience more enjoyable. We are delighted you found the team friendly and helpful, and they made you feel comfortable and welcome. We are thrilled you found the bed very comfortable and had an excellent night’s sleep. Thank you for recommending our hotel and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.

This was our first experience of Premier Inn and we chose this particular hotel as it was very close to where our son lives. It is nicely located and convenient, about 20 minutes walk to the city centre. The check-in process was very efficient and during our two night stay, the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We did not use the adjoining restaurant facilities during our stay so are not able to comment. We had booked a twin room and expected to find two single beds of similar size but this particular option is not available at this site. We had the usual large bed but the second was a small single which was not partuicularly comfortable for an adult. We mentioned this the following morning and were immediately offered a refund in line with their policy, and they made every effort to improve the comfort of that bed for the second night. We subsequently received an email from the manager expressing his concern that we had not been totally satisfied, so their promise of money back does hold good. Outside of this, everything else was fine, Clean, quiet, and very friendly staff who genuinely seemed keen to make sure you had a good stay. We would definitely stay there again, now knowing the limitations of the 'twin' room option, and would recommed it to others looking to stay on the outskirts of Edinburgh at a reasonable budget.

Room Tip: This hotel currently does not have 'twin' rooms, the second bed is only really suitable for...

A clean and quiet hotel.

Located slightly out of Edinburgh centre and limited options for eating locally.
A taxi to the centre was about £10.

The attached Brewers Fayre was cheap and cheerful, but slight grubby round the edges.

I will share your comments with the manager at the Brewer’s Fayre during our next management meeting. We hope to welcome you back to Premier Inn in the future.

Booked the hotel months ago for an overnight stay with my 2 daughters as going to a concert in the city that night. Was really just looking for a base but found lovely hotel for the price. Only disappointment was that I was looking forward to a view out over the harbour, as booked months before had hoped for one of these rooms but instead looked onto front of hotel and car park (oh and leaving my phone charger behind!!) Otherwise the room was comfortable and clean. Very warm in room but the fan helped with that. As always with premier inn hotels, staff were welcoming and efficient. Looking forward to my next stay

Thank you Nicola M for taking the time to review your stay with us. I am sorry we were not able to get a room overlooking the harbour for you. These rooms are in very high demand and there are a limited number available. If you have any special requests when staying with Premier Inn in the future please contact the hotel prior to your arrival to make your request known. Advance notice helps us greatly, however, sometimes we do not have the number of sea view rooms available to accommodate the demand. If you drop us an email on edinburghleith.pi@premierinn.com we can try and locate your charger and send it back to you to save you purchasing a new one. We are delighted you found the hotel lovely, and the fan helped keep you comfortable. Thank you again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
