Stayed for four nights in a Double room which had a lovely sea view from the window. Everything about the room was good including a comfort bed. It was on the second floor reached by a lift. It was very quiet with no external noise and very little internal noise from the passage.
It was easy to get to the City Centre, there are bus stops outside the Hotel where the number 10 bus picks up and drops off. The bus fare is £1.60 each way, but you can buy a day ticket for £4 to go anywhere on the Lothian bus network.

Normally very pleased with premier inn's, you know what you are getting and it's normally very good. Not here.
First night we have a musty smelling room with stained carpet and mouldy shower curtain. We were late back to the room so planned on sleeping and talking to someone in the morning. Barely slept due to pub throwing out bottles and playing loud music.
Next morning the receptionist was very helpful and agreed we could move rooms. He organised for our bags to be moved. Upon returning at 10pm that night discover an entire bag is missing. Snacks, entire bag of toiletries, phone charger, drinks etc all in the bag. Stayed up till midnight talking to (very good) staff, buying toothbrushes, writing lists of what was missing. Another night of sleep ruined.
After a few days, informed by hotel that bag had been binned by housekeeping. Customer services very little help. 2 phone calls of wait times of over an hour. Room cost refunded under good night sleep guarantee but no compensation for loss of bag worth around £180 which I now have to replace.
Awful way to treat paying customers. A genuine mistake by the hotel staff, but not one I should have to pay for.
Only redeeming feature was hotel reception staff, on the whole as helpful as they could be.

Good location on New Haven harbour. Buses into central Edinburgh but taxi will cost ~£16 each way
Rooms were clean and beds comfortable although missing a mini fridge which would have been a nice addition. Brewers Fayre attached, serves standard decent pub grub and very good real ale (Sharpe's Doombar), which was a nice surprise although the bar did become very busy and the barman could have done with some help at the busier times. If you like seafood (as we do) Loch Fyne Seafood restaurant is on the harbour 5 mins walk away. Ocean Terminal etc short walking distance.

We have friends who are former residents of Edinburgh and they usually stay at this hotel when they visit the city. They made reservations for us and themselves for 2 nights in May. The price was much lower than many of the hotels in the city and has a nice location on the waterfront. It is a bit of a walk to the city center but there is a bus stop just a couple of hundred yards from the hotel. The bus offers a cheap and easy alternative to trying to find parking in the heart of the business and shopping district.

Our room was quite spacious and while it was not deluxe it was comfortable and clean. We found the room to be very warm but we used the floor fan and opened the windows for some fresh air. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the Kiwi working at the reception desk.

We chose to add breakfast to the price of our room and were very satisfied with the quality and the variety of food and drink options on the buffet. The dining room was busy but the buffet was continually refreshed.

Staying at this Premier Inn is a good option to paying a lot more for a central location as it is quick and easy to get around the city by bus.
