Fantastically located in heart of Edinburgh city, short walk from the Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street Gardens, Grey Friar's Bobby and The Royal Mile... not only is it incredibly cheap but also pretty neat and clean..staff is helpful too..would say its great for backpackers..

Stayed for three nights there with two young children, rooms had very comfortable beds including the ones for the children, although was expecting a somewhat bigger room considering that it was called family room. Staff are courteous. The restaurant had a great offer of free breakfast for children when the parent pays for his / hers. They even had vegetarian sausages for us ! Hotel should do something about the soap dispensers in the room - refused to dispense soap in spite of all efforts ! Wish there were cheaper options for short term wi-fi users ! Hotel is in a great location with easy access to Castle and Royal Mile. A good place to stay - at a fair price !

The staff could not have done any more to make ourt stay any more enjoyable. It was the weekend of the edinburgh marathon and the hotel was full. however, breakfast was so relaxed and plenty of choice, no queues for the buffet, coffees or toast machines. Nothing was too much trouble even with lots of people ordering porridge.
rooms very clean, large beds, flat scrfeen tvs. the hotel is also ideally placed away from the hustle 7 bustle but close to the castle and the grassmarket bar/ eating area.

i booked here because there were great reviews, and the pricewas very cost effective.
Everything they said is true!!!. the staff could not be more helpfull . in every department.
the room was spacious, clean and inviting.
But what really stood out was the food!.
we paid £44 for both of us for dinner and unlimited breakfast. and were not expecting great things.
but wow !! from starters through main to dessert it was flawless .
from my chicken gougons through to proper chocolate dessert. it waS TRULY MEMORABLE.
at breakfast which was unlimited, the organisation, presentation and execution was flawless. also very relaxed and professional.
if i had 1 complaint , a very small one, location could be better and a little guidance, not having a car would have made an excellent stay faultless.
needless to say at prices paid (£39) we will be back as a sonn as we can come up with a decent excuse. well done you guys . GOOD SERVICE IS NOT A FORGOTTEN SKILL IN SCOTLAND. ITS ALIVE AND THRIVING IN PREMIER INN!!!

This is the best Premier Inn I have ever visited. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great location, great price and a surprisingly impressive breakfast. Will make this our only hotel to stay in from now on.

This was the first time myself, family and friends have stayed in a Premier Inn, and I can definately say that Edinburgh Central is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. All staff were friendly and could not do enough to help, the rooms were clean and fresh and the beds were extremely comfortable. We had breakfast and evening meals at the hotel with a great menu to choose from and good value for money. The location was also very good.

I've used Premier Inn hotels before as they tend to be well located and offer very good value. This one's no exception. The dining / bar area is particularly good and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.
