What a beautifull little guest house, I did not have the breakfast as I had to leave early, but the room where great for the price. Clean, stylish and very comfortable. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Have just returned from a 3 night stay at Aaron Glen (our third visit). As the previous reviewer said, this really is a hidden jewel. Carolyn was as welcoming as ever and if anything the attention to detail was better than I remember (if possible!). The breakfast was of the finest quality - try the full scottish on your first morning! There is a regular bus service in to Edinburgh (£1.50 for an adult single) and their is a late night service should this be required (£3 flat rate). Bus stops are no more than a 2 minute walk from Aaron Glen. Our room (2) was finished to the highest standard with ample sugar, milk etc (unlike your standard hotel chains). On behalf of the Kirkwood family, huge thanks and we will see you again next year (latest!).

Room Tip: We have stayed in room 1 (twin), 5 (double and single) and 2 (double and single) - all of the highes...

This is akin to the Hildeval in Kirkwall as the B&B manages to be contemporary, extremely clean, amazingly furnished and most of all absolutely welcoming.

The owners have managed to get it right in every respect. They also display one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while, with a friendly service and fresh produce. Carolyn and Les give full trust to guests, they're commitment is such that they run an 'honesty' bar, where guests simply note down their own consumption. Definitely worth the extra 'mile' out of the city.

We stayed here three years ago and were delighted to find Carolyn and Les are still running their lovely B and B, if anything they have made it even better. A lovely four night break and a perfect peaceful location just a short bus run into the city centre and all the buzz of the Edinburgh Fringe. Comfy bed, superlative breakfast and a lovely easy atmosphere.
Our favourite B and B ever! Thank you

Aaronglen was immaculate, contemporary and incredibly welcoming. Plenty space to park the car...which was not required as there is an excellent bus service to town.
The breakfast served was fresh, delicious and served with a friendly smile. In fact the jewel of this wonderful establishment is the owner herself, Carolyn.
She answered our many questions with patience and enthusiasm. In fact, after leaving we received a call from Carolyn informing us that my phone charger I had left behind, was now in the post!!! Unbelievable.
We will definitely be back.

We arrived late in the evening but that was no problem for Carolyn and Les. We were left the keys and went straight to our room which was spotless and modern.

In the morning we went down for a Scottish breakfast - one of the highlights of the weekend for me as the breakfast was delicious! Carolyn served our breakfast to us and was really pleasant to talk to. She suggested a few sights nearby to walk to as we wanted to do a bit of hill walking and see the Roselyn Chapel - she also gave us a small history lesson about one of the rivers nearby - very interesting!

Aaron Glen is a lovely place run by lovely people, we will definitely go there again on our next trip to Scotland.

Nice room on the first floor.Great breakfast with a lot of choice. Enough parking place at the B&B. Amazing bar with really nice prices to taste all whiskies.....Carolyn is really wonderful. She´s interested in learning german, but it have to be the difficult words (schwäbisch). It was funny and familiar. The bus stop is near and you can drive to Edinburgh in ca. 35 minutes without stress and search for a parking place.
