An excellent breakfast, peaceful nights sleep, spotlessly clean, friendly wellcome, and helpfull throughout our stay. We hope to stay again one day soon.
The buses in Edinburgh are very good, there was one every ten minutes from across the road at the Guest House, an all day pass is only £3.50 and a single trip £1.50. You have to have the right money, no change given, you drop the money in a box and out comes your tickets, this speeds up the process. Also there are cameras on board which stops anti-social behaviour. But we found Edinburgh to be a friendly safe place.
David Bann vegetarian resturant is not to be missed, and Hendersons is also really nice.

We experienced a very warm welcome only surpassed by the most delicious breakfast I've ever had. Being a vegan is easy here. the decor in room one was delightfully art deco, spacious, quiet and comfy. It easy to park and easy to walk to the city centre. Now I've found this place I won't stay anywhere else on my trips to Edinburgh. Thanks for the hospitality.

My husband and I stayed for three nights at Claymore in December during our first trip to Edinburgh. We couldn't have been happier with the warm and friendly service we received.

The room was spacious and clean with attention to detail, such as soya milk being available for tea and coffee-making. I also liked the fact that only the best toiletries were used in the bathroom - ones I would use myself at home and vegan-friendly, too.

Breakfast was delicious and varied. Again, the best quality ingredients were on offer. We were stuck for choice!

Cathy herself is a lovely lady, very friendly and welcoming. It shows that she clearly loves what she does.

Another welcome addition was Felix the cat! We left our door open one morning and came back from breakfast to find him snoozing on the bed. Cute!

We will definitely be staying here next time we are able to visit Edinburgh. Highly recommended.

Cathy is really helpful, letting us store our luggage so we could walk Edinburgh without it. Princes street is walkable from Claymore but the cheap buses go past the door or to the end of the street to all over the city. It was great to be able to have a real choice of vege food at breakfast and not feel rushed. We are gluten free and that was accomodated too. Bed was large and comfy. Herbal teas on a 'help yourself' basis. Leith is full of cafes to spend time in: we ate and sat sipping turkish coffee at the Casablanca, but Cathy says the Italian does gluten free food too.

I would highly recommend the Claymore Guest House. Excellent location with the bus stopping right outside. Lovely room. Lots of personal touches. Great breakfast with lots of choices. All freshly cooked. Very helpful owners with lots of local knowledge. Nothing was too much trouble.
