“Great atmosphere and food”
Reviewed 28 February 2014 via mobile

Visited for a few drinks and a quick bite to eat one Wednesday evening. Great location on a The Royal Mile. When I visited the usual bar team were on a team party so some staff from another pub had been drafted in. They were very good and extremely friendly. Had the lamb burger which came with tzatziki and a good side of chips, really tasty. Would recommend this place for a few drinks and food.

“The Ambiance of Ol' Scotland”
Reviewed 8 January 2014 via mobile

One recent evening while waiting for our nearby dinner spot to open, we discovered this gem of a pub in one of Edinburgh ' most eclectic streets with a visual potpourri of architecture, unique shops and favorite haunts of the locals. Step inside this tavern and the feel is like you stepped back in time to the 1800's. The atmosphere is authentic with nothing artificial from decor to staff to their selection of drinks. The place is intimate and warm which only adds to the enjoyment of a great scotch or a hot cider toddy on a cold night like the one when we visited. The prices are fair and the shots generous. Also, be sure to autograph and leave a dollar bill of your own on the tavern bar as a remembrance of your visit. And if you decide to stay longer, bring a deck of cards and play a game or two. Believe me, at Mile High, they won't be giving you side way stares. Just leave a good tip. And who knows, they may even remember you next time you visit.
