“A Wonderful Romantic Stay”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

Beautiful stylish hotel which came highly recommended and did not disappoint. From their website, booked in for a one-night stay which included a cocktail, 2-course evening meal and breakfast the next morning. The location is fabulous, on one of the most stylish streets in Edinburgh. Staff were friendly and knowledgable, the room was decadent but still cosey with a gorgeous bathroom! The meal we ate was delicious and again the restaurant was so wonderfully decorated with nooks and crannies that were individually decorated with some amazing lighting! Well worth a visit!

Room Tip: We used the car park at Greenside Row, much less expensive than Castle car park and only a 15 minute...

We stayed in the Tigerlily for one night and I am sorry it wasn't a longer stay. The room was huge, nicely decorated and well equipped with everything we needed and more. The service we received was great, from the turn down service, receptionists and waiting staff. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and dining room was lovely. A special thank you to our waitress on the night, don't know her name, sorry but she worked her socks off and was very pleasant indeed. We have stayed in many hotels but this one was the nicest but certainly not the most expensive. I would love to go back again and have recommended it to friends already.

Recently stayed at the Tigerlily with my partner. stayed in a junior suite for the weekend. the bed was so comfortable that we overslept both mornings. the room was a good size and well equipped, the bathroom was huge, and could have easily accommodated a separate shower as well as the bath etc.!
we ate in the restaurant one evening, and really enjoyed the food,we liked the atmosphere and music of the bar etc. but if loud music is not your thing it may not suit you.
lastly, the staff, we have rarely stayed in an hotel where all the staff are so friendly and helpful, a real joy, and a credit to the establishment. many thanks.

Room Tip: although some people complain about noise, on the third floor we had no problem from either neighbou...

We selected this place based on tripadvisor comments.
Believe them. This place is great and much better than we thought. Should be number one of the city!
Check is fast, rooms are amazing! Large beds, huge nice bathroom.
The restraunt and bars are best in town.
Very nice design furniture all around the hotel.
Can't wait to get back to this place!

Booked into the Jnr Mini Suite (room 6) for a Saturday night. The room was fantastic! Couldn't fault it, massive bed, beautiful shower area and suite area with a wall mounted wide screen tv.

On first arrival we were met at reception by friendly and helpful staff with everything running like clockwork.

The food is amazing! Personal recommendation is the scallops then the three little pigs. The Irish male waiter (sorry didn't catch his name) was brilliant. Very attentive without being overbearing, with a enthusiastic attitude. I'm generally a pint of beer kinda guy but the cocktails were amazing.

Thank you very much to the staff for a wonderful stay, will definitely be back again.

We stayed at the hotel for a Saturday night in July, arrived around 1:20pm (while check-in time is 2pm) to a snobby receptionist. The receptionist promised to give us a call when the room was ready so we walked around George St., Princes St., spent some time in a park before we headed back to the hotel around 2:40pm (this time served by another snobby receptionist) and still had to wait until after 3pm. From the other reviews this seems like some kind of systematic problem.

The room was absolutely beautiful and clean, a big separate bathroom, very comfortable beds, amazing furniture.

We spent the night in a close-by venue watching a great local band and returned to the hotel around 12:30am. The hotel entrance and the bar were completely packed, the music was exceptionally loud and the elevator was blocked by round about a dozen drunken guys trying to party inside the 4-prs-elevator cab. So we had to find the stairs up to our room.

In the room it was way too loud to think of sleeping, it felt like the loud bass made the bed swing. There were people walking around the corridor, doors clapping every now and then and even some people trying to open our door. After the music stopped between 3am and 3:30am there was still lots of noise coming in from the corridor.

The receptionist on checkout next morning was friendlier than the two guys during checkin.

Having lived in Edinburgh my whole life and tried nearly every venue the wee burgh has to offer, Tigerlily is surpassed by none. After a long hard week in the office, some much needed catch up time with friends was over due and Tigerlily is the place to go! The experience starts at the door with the friendly and welcoming door staff. On entry the atmosphere is electric and the decor is stylish and chic! Given it is a popular venue you're not always guaranteed a seat but the staff will do their best to accomodate. Being served is not a hassle, the bar team are friendly and efficient. Drinks are reasonably priced given the location and the quality of ingredients used. If you're struggling to pick a drink the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. This may sound a little "too far" but you know you're in a nice place when the bathrooms are well kept! This may be down to the cheery toliet attendant, who is always doing spot checks. Throughout the evening we could see the door staff and hostesses keeping a watchful eye so safety is never an issue. After a few delicious cocktails, it was on to the nightclub underneath which upholds the same expectations and highstandards of tigerlily. On exiting Tigerlily the door staff greeted us and thanked us for our business. These little touches are what make Tigerlily such an excellent venue to attend. Highly recommended.
