I stayed here for 2 nights on 24th and 25th July. I really loved the peace and quiet after a noisy night spent in the Isle of Bute. The bed was so very comfortable and I slept well. The breakfasts were wholesome and Jasmine cooked whatever you wanted. Jasmine and her husband were vety helpful and friendly. Next time I go for the festival next year I will stay longer. It us very close to buses to go anywhere. Leith has lots going for it, theatres, restaurants, cafes all nearby.

Room Tip: They are all good but I stayed at the front where the sun shone in.

this hotel was the right place to stay we went with two family members who had stayed there before and can see why they returned. Jasmine was lovely and cooks a very good breakfast which sees us through till early evening. the hotel is clean, tidy and quiet. It is in a great location with quite a few attractions well within walking distance. go there! it's good, we will certainly return!!

We can't agree with the many of the other reviewers! We had travelled a distance from Cornwall and were greeted by Jasmine who didn't even ask us where we were from or how our journey had been, quite odd for a guest house owner!
The interior, despite being a hugely attractive house with terrific Georgian features, is quite tired and shabby and would benefit from a good clean and a lick of paint !
Her own family front room appeared to be out of bounds for guests but was open for all to see. Jasmine would certainly benefit from help at breakfast time, so she had time to give to her guests as we were waiting ages for just a cup of tea! The breakfast was o.k. but was clearly rushed! We had no real exchange of conversation with her the entire stay and actually felt that we were almost intruders in her home. We felt this was very poor value which was highlighted hugely when we stayed in our next guesthouse in Edingburgh which was considerably cheaper and so much more welcoming!

A genuine family run hotel, incredibly friendly. Rooms very clean and breakfast cooked to order! Location is fantastic for the city centre, only a 10 minute stroll to Princes Street. Would definitely stay again.

Great room, the host was very friendly, and the breakfast in the morning was great. The hotel is in a great location, all attractions are within 30 minutes walk, and if the weather is good walking is a great way to see edinburgh.

The room was relatively expensive, but i expected that given the fringe and tattoo were on.

Room Tip: We were in room 5, which was away from the street and so there was no noise at all

This was the second time my wife and I stayed at Hanover House. Jasmin not only has comfortable rooms, she goes out of her way to make her guests feel at home. She accommodated my special needs for breakfast (even serving gluten free toast!) and got us a reservation in Fort William for the next leg of our journey.

I've stayed in this guest house in Edinburg for 4 nights across June/July 2013. Near to the city centre, about only 10 minutes of walk to Princess Street and the Waverley Station.
The room very cleaned and silenced.
For breakfast you can ask for everything and Jasmine will prepare it!!
If I'll come back one day in Edinburg, I'll stay in Hanover House Hotel.
Thank you Jasmine!

Giorgia.
