“Good. Close to the bus.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014 via mobile

Stayed 4 nights in our van. Showers were good, though small. TV room good. Lots of well kept grass. Bus stop right outside the driveway, very convenient.
Campsite very crowded on weekend. Wifi was absolute rubbish, paid £25 for two weekly vouchers and it hardly worked. Wouldn't connect, then disconnected at will. Wouldn't work in TV room, or bathrooms, or in our van.
The staff were very friendly except for the lady I mentioned our wifi problems to - who was completely uninterested. Wouldn't be that keen to stay again- would try my chances elsewhere.

Mortonhall Caravan and Camping Park is the perfect base from which to explore all that the city of Edinburgh and its surrounding countryside has to offer. Set within a 200 acre country estate it offers the ideal holiday contrast of country living and city entertainment.
The park is accessed easily from the city bypass and situated conveniently on a main bus route with a regular bus link to the city, With so much to see and do in and around the Capital, you'll be spoilt for choice.
Wigwams were situated next to the newly refurbished toilet blocks which was great not far to go. There was also a bar/restaurant on site which served lovely meals.
Also for children there was a small playpark.

Wigwam had a microwave, fridge, kettle and TV, outside you had a picnic table and BBQ facilities. Good thing about this site, electricity was included in the price, no need to worry about running out of electricity.

Every year we stay at this lovely site. Trade stand at the Royal Highland Show and the on site camp is less than agreeable!!! So we choose to return each evening to a little slice of Heaven to rest & recoup after a long day, hot shower & a good meal. Very friendly staff and a well kept site. Returning 2014 our 4th year. Will book our slot for 2015 before I leave.

We spent 3 nights at the campsite in one of the wooden pods. We are a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 children.
Friendly staff who were happy to help and advise. The wooden pods were great fun - kids loved it. Electric heaters provided but not needed - v warm! There is a communal kitchen - but expensive to use the cooker and toaster. £1 for 15 mins. Next time I'll take a camping stove.
Toilet and showers very clean.
Lots on site to entertain - games room, park and The Stable Bar.
Overall, very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Will definitely return.

We have just returned from a weekend stay at Mortonhall, lovely clean site, well looked after and well maintained. Even though the site was quite busy on Friday and Saturday night it was very quiet, also with the good number of toilet/showers we didn't have to wait once.
Great location for getting into Edinburgh, a £3.50 day rider ticket on the bus lets you go anywhere in the city.We will defiantly be back.

this is a lovely site, it's big but well maintained. The large toilets do seem to attract large numbers of daddy long legs for some reason, which kinda freaked my daughter out but that's camping for you! Our recent trip at end of february seen us staying more toward the wigwam area and we used, what I presume are their facilities. I have never experienced showers like it! Immaculate, power showers, modern and heated underfloor heating!! Only gripe was last time my husband had to tell off a group of kids who I presume we're from the statics as there weren't many tourers on site. The language was awful and not what you want your kids listening to. The play park was great but the guy was telling us a new adventure park was being built in March past, so can't wait to go back and try it!

Stayed in a wigwam for the one night with my husband and 4 year old, wigwam was lovely n cosy, with a tele, fridge, clothes airer, kettle n microwave and a heater.... park was ideal for my child especially the playpark which he loved.... shop was reasonable priced for most things, had a games room, which loved playing pool and the hockey.... showers and toilets were immaculate, couldnt have asked for any cleaner... staff at reception was really friendly, the only thing i regret was even thou im 5 months pregnant, i really wish i stayed for the 2 nyts instead of the one, thats how comfortable i was comapared to other wigwam sites we have been to.... the only downside which was disappointing was the bar n restaurant, the dinner we had was delicious, but twice i asked the waiter for something, and he never got back to us, my hubby had to actually go to the bar himself, plus waited nearly an hour for our food and ages for someone to take our drinks order!! not good at all,, if i did ever go back to this site which we will be, i will not be going to the onsite bar n restaurant again!!! pity, apart from this experience we had in the restaurant i wouldf gave this park 5/5.....
