Very simple: house, breakfast, internal garden, hospitality are at the very top, a different, higher level also if they are compared with the best B&B we visited during our Scottish trip.

Rooms are not the bigger and price are not cheap: but you cannot wait a cheap price from a service of this level.

The owners are really friendly, with an old, high style level of hospitality. Highly Recommended.

Very warm welcoming place, Very nice located bed and breakfast with beautiful garden.
If you on a diet before you go, just put on hold while you stay there with all the lovely breakfast on offer. Haddock to the Scottish breakfast.
Very good bus service, 2 friendly pubs and cash point machine on the same road.

Stayed one night only at this wonderful B&B on outskirts of Edinburgh, Highly recommend it, easy access into the city by local bus. Free car parking and wifi. Good dining pub across the street, The B&B is a hidden treasure. 3 gorgeous rooms, VERY clean throughout and comfortable beds, so tempting to stay in bed all day. The hosts John and Reta are so friendly, make you feel like part of their family. They will assist you with anything you need, Breakfast was AMAZING as other reviewers pointed out, I wish I could have stayed longer but I look forward to returning soon again, Highly recommend this B&B so much nicer than an anonymous corporate hotel

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms have great view to rear, but all 3 rooms are wonderful

Friendly service, clean and beautiful rooms. Tasty breakfast. Located next to a smallish river with nice footpath for walks and running alike - even with baby prams! We just loved the stay, despite the Scottish weather ;)

After arriving almost a day later than scheduled from Australia because of airline problems, we were welcomed into one of the most warm and relaxing B&B's imaginable -we wished we could have had the two planned days there. Fantastic traditional Scottish breakfast which included our first taste of haggis (v. tasty), great selection of fruit and honey fresh from John and Reta's own garden. Brilliantly appointed bedrooms, and great raconteurs/ hosts. Highly recommended.

Reta and John are great hosts during our stay in Violet Bank. Reta shared with us useful travel information. The house is nice and comfortable. A big table in the dining room allows people chatting with each other, and breakfast is wonderful by using fresh ingredients. We really enjoyed our stay here for the nice people, environment and food. Heidi & Matthew
