Book a table if you want to be sure to be seated at your preferred time. The place is typical and warm scottish pub. They have good selection of beers and food. We shared a dish of fish and chips and then we had great hamburgers, really tasty and juicy! The waiters were very kind and quick. We'll come back!

I found the cafe by accident and was pleasantly surprised: Homemade sandwiches, cake, soups at affordable prices (sandwich & soup for £3.50), a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in a typical Edinburgh West End townhouse with the original cornicing, staircase and ceilings. Don't let the sign outside (it shares the building with a spiritual church) keep you from experiencing this little hidden gem!

Big Sherlock Holmes fan so how could I resist? The statue is just over the road...the pub has some interesting stuff about Conan Doyle outside. inside it's just a nice old fashioned Scottish pub. Typical Nicolsons menu, I had veggie haggis, tatties and neeps. Great lunch time deal, £6 with a pint.....

If you are a Sherlock fan, it's a must visit....and John Lewis is close by...and also an old fashioned poilce box...

Just try to imagine you, after a gorgeous, long and a really tiring day in Edinburgh. And, of course, you will need a good food and a good beer, in a good place. Well, I had all these things in this place!

This is a lovely review, however I think this gentleman is referring to the Conan Doyle Bar as we are not a licensed business, we can provide great food and a lovely atmosphere, but sadly no beer!
