“Conveniently situated”

We stayed for a fortnight in August - 1 week of the festival/fringe, and the subsequent week. Ideally situated for both. Right in the middle of everything, yet quiet. The flat was basic, but had all we needed.
Quite a hill on the alleyway to the flat. (Edinburgh old town is very hilly!)
Best stocked supermarket in the locality was Lidl (on South Bridge).
"Royal ticket" gives you 48 hours on the 3 hop on/off sightseeing buses, plus 6 months to visit the castle/palace/yacht. A good buy.
Tickets for the fringe had a noticeable booking fee online and at the fringe office. NO booking fee if bought at the venues - but only the larger venues will sell their tickets. Most events can be booked once you arrive.
Edinburgh is still busy after the fringe is finished - though the streets are less crowded. It is best to visit popular tourist attractions earlier in the day.
National Trust venues in Edinburgh are free to members of the English NT.
Tattoo was well worth going to.
We had a really good holiday!

Thank you for leaving such a detailed review of your stay and especially top tips for future Festival goers! August is an incredibly exciting time to be in Edinburgh and, as you said, the apartment is quiet (which can come as a relief in the middle of all the excitement and noise of the Festival!) We hope to be able to welcome you another year too! x

Thank you for your review! It sounds as though you had a good stay. Many of our guests return as they appreciate a good nights sleep too! There is so much walking when visiting Edinburgh that it is great that we are so local to all amenities - and easy to pop back in for a cuppa and a bit of a rest! We hope you will be able to stay with us again! W x

“Great Location - Wonderful Flat”
Reviewed 5 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

This Edinburgh is the perfect holiday rental. It is very close to Waverly Station for easy walking with luggage to and from the trains. It is located in a little close right off ow the Royal Mile, so it is the perfect location for sightseeing Old Town. It is very close to a hop on hop off bus stop and just a short walk to Highlands tour bus pick up points. The flat itself is very clean, with all of the modern conveniences and everything you need for your stay. It is in a very quiet location - even though you are just steps off of the Royal Mile. If I had to mention any negatives, it would be that the walk up the hill from the train station and the walk up and down the close to the last is quite steep, so it could be a difficult walk for someone unsteady of their feet - especially if you are hauling luggage. Other than that, I couldn't fault this rental in any way. Thank you, Wendy, for a wonderful experience in Edinburgh!

Thank you for your review. We pride ourselves on providing good quality accommodation for guests visiting Edinburgh's main attractions. As we are located just off of the Royal Mile, which is built along the spine of a hill, there is a small section which becomes a steep downhill or uphill approach the apartment. But Edinburgh is a very hilly city (and full of steps) which I am sure you encountered! We are delighted you loved Edinburgh, and your stay with us! We are here for you if you wish to return! Many thanks, W x

Thank you for leaving a review of your stay. We take a great deal of care to ensure our accommodation is of high standards. The location is within walking distance of all of the city's landmarks, but it is quiet because it is in a residential square, rather than staying on one of the busy city centre streets. We are very happy you had a great time, and would be delighted if you returned! W x

“Lovely place in the city center”
Reviewed 10 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Great place to visit Edinburgh, in the heart of the city : everything is within walking distance.
The flat is really nice and well furnished, we definitely recommend the place (especially for two, it's a little bit small for four).
