Stayed with 4 friends for 2 nights as we were celebrating a birthday, the apartment served it's purpose. Good area, nice comfy beds, very clean, it's best for if you are looking for a place to be social as all rooms are very much linked, in the apartment we were in, Recommend it.

We were really looking to staying in an apartment in Edinburgh appose to a hotel. We had to go to the office to collect the keys which was no problem. And then we had a 10 - 15 minute walk to find the apartment. Eventually we did and arrived at apartment 1. On first impressions it was lovely, bathroom good size, bedroom and walk in wardrobe and the living room/kitchen area. However when we looked closely it did have several flaws. There was gaffer tape on the sofa in two places, the bed wasn't that big our foot hung out the bottom. We wanted to watch a DVD but could not get it to connect to the TV which was very annoying. The oven was temperamental and took ages to get warmed up. And then the bath was very high which was a slight problem for us when getting in and out so would be a problem for older guests. I nearly slipped getting out - extra care needed!!! We would of been willingly to overlook these problems if we got a good nights sleep but unfortunately we were woken both nights by guests returning from nights out - very loud and inconsiderate!!! Not impressed!!! Check out was 11am which is quite reasonable.

Room Tip: Do not book a room on the ground floor!!!!

Stayed for 4 nights for the fringe festival. Paid extra for 'luxurious appartments' this wasn't the case. Very noisy, next to a pub which never seemed to close. Very small 2 bedroom apartment, scruffy furniture and a stained setee. Good location but very over priced.

3 nights and children of age range 11,9,8,7. Really pleased with everything with the apartments. We had 2 apartments booked, for 2 families. Found both places of very good standards & clean. One more modern, but both where of good standards.
There was some noise at night from bar next door, but that was the only problem we found, but it didn't stop anyone from sleeping. Short 5 min walk to Royal mile, which the children had no problem with. We would recommend to friends heading to Edinburgh.

Not quite up to the standard of the Knight Residence but the location was good and we were able to stay for only one night which is difficult to get in most other serviced apartments. The apartment was to a good standard, clean and reasonably well sound proofed. Unlike the Knight Residence and Holyrood Aparthotel you do not get much by way of a breakfast convenience pack, but we were happy to pop across to Food2Go which opened at 10 am on sunday morning for hot rolls. All in all good value and handy for the old town.

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights during the Edinburgh Fringe. The keys have to be collected from an office on the High Street which wasn't too much of a problem as my partner was dropping us off on route to Aberdeen otherwise this could have been a problem with heavy suitcases. We arrived at the apartments and my first thought was that the communal entrance could do with brightening up. There was no lift and we were on the 3rd floor. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis so again without my partner to carry the suitcase it would have been hell. The 2 bedroom apartment was clean and adequate for our needs. The crockery was all new and there was a dishwasher and washing machine if needed. The bedrooms both had wardrobes and chests of drawers. I wouldn't call it a luxury apartment- it was good but not luxury! The bedroom windows opened out onto the street below, and on the first night was extremely noisy with both people and cars. The second and third night was quieter as it was raining and so not so many people about too late. However I was woken with the refuge collectors more than once who seem to collect at around 5am! The location for the Fringe was great as we were never too far from anywhere and had fortunately done the further away venues during the day.
The TV was tiny- not that we watched much of it. The door to the apartment only had one lock- no bolts which was slightly worrying. Getting down the stairs with our luggage on our last morning was dreadful and the walk back to the office to leave our luggage for the day was a challenge. The staff in the office were extremely friendly and very pleasant. We paid over the top for the apartment as it was during the fringe, and I certainly wouldn't pay £515 for three nights at any other time. I would stay again- with a small suitcase! and it would probably be quieter at other times of the year.

Room Tip: If you have trouble with the stairs ask for a room lower down- or find a strong guy to help with you...

A group of 4 of us went up to Edinburgh for the fringe festival.
We picked up the keys from Mick and Yvonne at Byres Close... they were so friendly and helpful.
Walked into the apartment, which is perfectly located for the festival... a few doors down from Laughing Horse @ Counting House and surrounded by loads of local eateries and places to buy food. All that we needed was provided.
It was clean, everything worked and it was quiet even though it is located in a busy area.
Only small niggles is the beds were low and the bathroom door didn't lock properly...but having well decorated rooms and small additions like books, dvds, water, juice, tea and coffee available made up for that.
It was as comfortable as being at home.
