“Well done”

This establishment serves its particular demographic and serves it very well. I found the premises to be clean and fairly tidy. The room was certainly adequate with the amenities that one would expect. Like most B&B establishments in the UK, there is never sufficient milk on the coffee/tea tray. The room was quiet and comfortable and the breakfast very good. It is made to order and arrives freshly made. Castle Park offers a more personal service than one would find at budget hotels and I found them very responsive to requests and quick to rectify problems. I would say the room 7 is in need of curtains or blinds. The establishment is in a fairly cosmopolitan area of Edinburgh, with a bus stop across the road. However, it is close enough to the centre of Edinburgh to walk. There are 2 theatres and an Odeon cinema complex close by, with many restaurants and take-away shops of many types very close. It is a convenient base to explore Edinburgh from, but, if you're going to walk - wear comfortable shoes. Castle Park offers good value for the price.

Room Tip: The single rooms on the top floor are good - quiet and comfortable, but small. Ideal for the single...

Clean rooms, old building, nice and quiet location, cheap. Some staff was rude.
After check-out we were not allowed to leave our luggage during the day.
In the end end I believe it was good value for money.

Great place tucked 20 minutes walk from princess street. Welcomed by the owner. Quick and cheerful check in to our family room.
Breakfast was lovely served by our French waitress. Definitely a place to stay while visiting Edinburgh. Parking could be a challenge during the busy season.

In comparison to other B&B's in the area, this place offered us great value for money and a location which enabled us to walk into the city centre in about 25 minutes, or travel by bus in about 10 minutes. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our room a few doors down the road in a separate building, as the main building seemed to be fully booked. The bedroom was en-suite, big, clean, warm, bed was comfortable, and it looked like we were the only guests at that property so it was quiet. We stayed for three nights and each morning walked for 30 seconds from the annexe back to the main building for breakfast. The full breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious, couldn't ask for more. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Stayed here for New Year. 30 December to 2 January.
Room was basic but clean and had all you needed to stay.
No problems with the tv channels it was just on a different setting. A previous reviewer complained that the tea and coffee pots at breakfast are plastic. They are actually Thermos pots to keep your drink hot.
As for the breakfast all freshly cooked and in any compilation you would like. Eggs on toast with bacon is enough for myself. Lots of good cereals to choose from and fresh juice.
Easy walk into the city and plenty of pubs and restaurants close by.
On the down side, room was a bit cold and no spare blankets, the bed although large was only short. Otherwise a lovely place to stay. With helpful welcoming staff

Close enough to walk into town for the day. First come first served parking. Varied breakfast . Clean but basic rooms and bathrooms. We had a triple for the two of us so we had plenty of room. If you are looking for a clean, friendly place this will do fine.

Room Tip: Back facing would be quieter
