“Lovely Afternoon Tea”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

Lovely afternoon tea at the Tower restaurant, the food was fresh & delicious and the views of Edinburgh castle are some of the best in town. The tea sandwiches included chicken, egg & smoked salmon, the tea lemon tea was delicious as well. The service was very prompt & professional.

“Great lunch with superb views”
Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

We are here on Friday lunchtime and had the Pre Fixe for £15. The food was absolutely great. Unfortunately dessert was too tempting so we had that as well. The Thelema Chardonnay is well worth trying. Try and book a table with a Castle View otherwise it's just like looking at rooftops. Would visit again.

“Inspired choice”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

We were a party of 14 – not the easiest number to cope with on a busy weekday lunchtime. Table was ready, perfectly set out with a menu in each place. Our guests, who arrived in small groups, were welcomed and directed to us. Throughout the meal wines were served as agreed beforehand – not to excess, just right. Food was very good and one slight slip-up (a guest's fault) smoothly made good. We were never rushed. The view is superb. Only quibble: the rather ridiculous frisbee-type dishes used for certain starters and puddings.

“Lovely food great views!”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

Stopped here for lunch during trip to Edinburgh. Opted for the set menu. Lovely surroundings - modern, swish, sophisticated, great atmosphere. Got seat by the window - fantastic views of Edinburgh Castle. Great service with style - friendly staff.
Had cream of parsnip soup followed by pan fried hake and warm potato salad - partner had gravadlax, chicken leg with cous cous. Accompanied by a glass of champagne. All delicioius! Just a note though......if you do have the glass of champagne, be aware the the 2nd glass comes at full price! Lovely place and would definitely go back - love to try dinner out on the terrace in summer.
Great and good value.

“Romantic spot in the heart of Edinburgh”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

I took my girlfriend to Edinburgh for her 21st Birthday and treated her to a meal here after a recommendation from the receptionist at our hotel.

Situated in a slightly odd place, above the Museum of Scotland, I wouldn't have naturally thought to go here. With beautiful views across Edinburgh and overlooking Castle Rock it was very romantic. I would recommend when booking you ask for a table by the window!

The service was very good, and we were able to relax and enjoy the evening. Each course was very accomplished and I have no faults with anything we ate that evening. The pricing reflects the quality in the food and we had a very enjoyable evening.

I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Edinburgh on a romantic get away.
