My son and I booked the 3 hour tour with Gareth and are so glad we did.
Gareth made learning about the history of Edinburgh and Scotland very interesting and entertaining.
Gareth is a very personable person, you feel as if you are walking around with an old friend in Scotland.
A walking tour was so much better then sitting on a tour bus. We got to see the hidden back roads.
We totally recommend Gareth’s tours!
Book early to make sure you can get the day and time you want!!

We booked a three-hour private walking tour for our family of six (4 'kids' aged 17-24) with Gareth at the end of August. It was a wonderful way to learn about Edinburgh, everyone was thoroughly entertained the entire time. Gareth is a walking encyclopedia, handling even our obscure questions. We covered a lot of ground through the old and new town ... and he indulged the Harry Potter fans in the family! I would highly recommend Gareth's tour - definetly one of our favourite experiences in Edinburgh!!

We booked a private family tour with Gareth. He met us promptly at our hotel and off we went for a three hour tour (that sounds familiar?). We learned a lot of history both about Scotland and the city of Edinburgh. I would highly recommend you do this tour early in your trip so you learn about the sites as you first come across them. The three hours felt like the right amount of time especially with our 12 and 15 year old kids. The tour was during the Edinburgh Fringe but Gareth was able to guide us through the city to avoid the large crowds. We also did the "Taste of Scotland" which was a nice conclusion to the tour. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend the tour.
