Description: Up and coming chef Jason Gallagher has done a fine job in turning the former haunt of local 'celebrity' chef Juliet Lawrence Wilson into a luxurious showcase of his own exciting style of Modern European cuisine. The basement space really is a lovely little restaurant for a romantic meal or special occasion. Black-painted walls decorated with modern art work well with plush golden upholstered chairs, thick white table linen and fairy lights to create an especially intimate atmosphere. Gallagher works with fresh, seasonal ingredients so the menu often changes, but the offerings are guaranteed to be indulgent and of the kind that feel like they're a real treat to be eating. Perfect service too.

A small relaxed restaurant set in the beautiful buildings of Stockbridge. The menu is very limited and reasonably priced but absolutely fab food you will not be disappointed!

“First class restaurant in Edinburgh”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

We found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and looked into the reviews. For the price, I have not found a better restaurant serving almost Michelin star quality food. The service would be the only factor keeping my rating below 5 stars, but no fault of the staff by any means.
We had a two course meal on Sunday, for a special price, which I would highly recommend.
I would also recommend the pigeon breast, as it was prepared and served perfectly.

“Faultless.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2013

This restaurant was found by one of our party using Trip Advisor.
It was an absolute gem , not easy to find and a touch off the beaten track but we received a warm welcome and our coats were quickly taken and drinks offered.
I have eaten in many lovely restaurants over the years but this has to rank at the very top.
The service was ultra professional , polite , unobtrusive and it was pleasant to see the staff so immaculately attired. There were six of us at out table and the restaurant is intimate in setting and simply yet exquisitely decorated which made for a very relaxing atmosphere.
My Venison was superb as was my partners Duck. My dear friend sampled the Pigeon for the first time in her life and all her fears were allayed. The desserts were to die for and I must admit that the restrooms were absolutely amazing. This place is the crown jewel in Edinburgh's culinary crown culinary

“Dinner at Stockbridge”

Food and choice really good and the atmosphere, while a little bohemian, was very relaxed and somewhat "different". Very nice and moderate price

“Well prepared food at sensible prices”

A lovely and often busy restaurant, with a well thought out menu. We ate from the fixed price menu, and the food was genuinely excellent throughout.
