Description: In the charmingly old world setting of the Dunstane House Hotel, The Skerries is a handsome seafood restaurant with a punchy menu that draws on the Orkney origins of the owner. Situated west of Haymarket, this Edinburgh mainstay is decorated in formal Victorian style, with beautiful windows overlooking the gardens. The seasonal cuisine combines Orcadian seafood and meat with local produce to create dishes bursting with flavour. The cosy bar affords a sizeable selection of Scottish malt whiskies.

“Very Nice Meal”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

We had a very nice meal and the service was very good.
We both had scallops and risotto followed by the lamb which was excellent.
We had booked at 6pm to take advantage of the 20% off for eating early. it was therefore a little disappointing to find we had to vacate the table by 7pm to get the discount. However it proves the food was good because we decided to have a pudding rather than rush out at 6.59.

“Best Scottish in Edinburgh”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

I have been many many times in this fantastic and small Restaurant and I think is the best Scottish in the city. I have tried all the menu and could not find a bad dish, starter or dessert. The employees are always happy and professional. The restaurant is inside the Dunstane Boutique Hotel, which is a nice option to be in a calm but well located hotel. Congrats.

“Fantastic food in a very special place!”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

It is so easy not leave your gorgeous room after a long day, but rather go downstairs for dinner. Hotel food is known for being not so great and often very pricey - but not at the Dunstane! Everything was delicious and reasonably priced.

And it is easy to see why local connoisseurs often come for a night out. The menu is varied, interesting, and just the right mix of Scottish specialties. The portions are generous to say the least.

But the service sets this restaurant apart - it is amazing!

Skerries is definitely the right choice!
