Living in a hot country my wife and I wanted a winter break in Scotland and so glad we found this B&B. Great stay! Jackie made us a hearty scottish breakfast before our short walk to the city attractions so close by and easy to get to. The bedroom was tasteful, my wife thought it was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and the shower room large. Don't miss it we had a great time here and also in Edinburgh. Five star all the way more like a boutique hotel !

Room Tip: We had a Superior Double Room and it was excellent value. Garden views and quiet.

We came to Edinburgh for a couple of days as part of our Scottish Holiday and had never stayed in a B&B before. We were delighted to have found Ben Cruachan as we were warmly welcomed by Jackie who made us feel instantly at home. Our room was tastefully decorated, no corners cut here with a selection of teas and coffees, biscuits, sweets and we felt spoiled with the little decanter of sherry which was a welcome nightcap!.. The porridge with cream, whisky and honey is a must and the scottish breakfast was fresh and delicious. My partner opted for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and I had food envy when I saw it !! The bed was very comfortable and it was great to wake up in the middle of a city to the birds chirping and a lovely view of the garden. Walking to the city centre took no more than 15 minutes and major attractions were easily accessible. We were able to park our car in the street opposite and never had to use it until we left. Thank you Ben Cruachan we recommend you highly and we will definitely be back on our next trip to your beautiful city and country.

Room Tip: we had room 5 and it was gorgeous with a large king bed and beautiful ensuite shower room.

Ben Cruachan was once again the perfect place for our return trip to Edinburgh, in the city centre however not too far in that it was noisy when we wanted to sleep, it was in fact very peaceful when we woke in the morning and the bed was really comfy. We started the day with a great breakfast, cooked to order I had porridge and a full scottish my partner preferring the smoked salmon and eggs, there was also a lovely fruit platter available for the more healthy eaters. Jackie was lovely and really helpful before we left for our days sightseeing, she knew lots about the city and pointed out all the tourist attractions and recommended places to eat and drink, this was great as our previous visit had been mostly work. We would not hesitate to return here the guest house was tasteful and very clean, the room was lovely: more like a small boutique hotel really.

I rarely write reviews unless I find something exceptional. Having recently stayed at Ben Cruachan I found it to be just that..exceptional. It far exceeds standards of most hotels with the bonus of personalised service from the delightful Jackie. The accommodation was immaculate and breakfast was a delight for the eyes and stomach. Within a short walk of most that Edinburgh has to offer, Ben Cruachan is first class and I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone considering a visit to Edinburgh.

Just been back for a second short break to Ben Cruachan. Remains one of the best guest houses I have ever visited and Jaqui makes all her guests feel special. Her breakfasts are to die for. Top marks all round. Happy Helen
