Myself and my husband visited here on 7/8th December for a Groupon deal.
The guest house is situated roughly halfway down Leith Walk, on MacDonald Road. So it was a wee bit quieter but near to the city centre.
We were welcomed by Jackie the owner and she was so friendly, welcoming and generous!
We were shown to room 5 on the ground floor overlooking the back garden. It wasn't huge but was a lovely, comfortable double room. It was tastefully decorated and had tea/coffee/biscuit facilities. We even had a tray with 2 glasses and a small sherry decanter and mints if you so desired. The bathroom en suite was scrupulously clean and had a double shower, toiletries and a hairdryer. If you wished breakfast then you chose from a menu the night before and left it out on hall table.
The dining room was in the basement and with the piped music and Xmas tree in the corner it was very nice. The breakfast choice was great and cooked fresh.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this guest house to anyone planning to stay in Edinburgh at the Ben Cruachan!

We have just left Ben Cruachan after a wonderful few days in Edinburgh with some friends. We absolutely concur with all the praise heaped on Jackie and her lovely guest house in precious reviews. Nothing is too much trouble for her and her attention to detail is second to none.
The rooms are really comfortable with great decor, the bathrooms are good and the breakfasts delicious. But it is Jackie herself who really makes a stay here so special. Great conversation and brilliant recommendations. We wouldn’t hesitate to return to Ben Cruachan on our next visit to this stunning city.

We couldn’t fault this delightful, cosy, homely, 5 star guest house. From the welcoming tot of sherry in our room to the truly comfortable bed, from the very warm welcome to the delicious, filling breakfast- an absolute treat! Jackie couldn’t do enough for us & had helpful hints & suggestions to explore during our visit. Officially 4 star but we couldn’t fault it.Thanks for a great stay Jackie

Stayed one night but wish we could stay longer. Charming, elegant room, very peaceful overlooking the garden, plenty of room, great shower and an excellent breakfast. What more do you want. We will be back.
