Starting with and excellent pint of Duchers 80 shilling at the adjacent pub in the same building then moving through via the corridor past loos to the restaurant - interesting. We were a party of 6 and enjoyed the Hare starter and then either the Ox Cheek or the Lamb. Lamb fillet excellent underdone but the lamb sholder croquettes bit of a let down. Overall quite expensive but food generally good to excellent. Service attentive friendly and efficient.

Located next to the Kjngs Theatre, this popular restaurant is an excellent choice for a pre-show dinner. Swift service, excellent food - we had the fishcakes followed by pork loin - both very tasty - and an unusual coconut panna cotta which was very moreish! Portions were slightly on the small side, but certainly sufficient for an early evening dinner. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Tripped over this place searching on TA. Great atmosphere great service and marvelous food. Was surprised that the restaurant wasn’t fully booked when we were there.

I had a delicious Cauliflower soup followed by perfectly cooked cod with a smoky salty purée of olives and eggplant sitting on top. Dessert was hazelnut profiteroles with amazing snickers ice cream.

Brilliant all around and should be an Edinburgh go to restaurant. Highly recommended.

We stumbled upon this little restaurant when searching TA for places that allowed online bookings and ended up completely bowled over by it.

The ambiance is cosy and unpretentious... no tablecloths, comfy wooden chairs, intimate size. The food and the service were top rate from start to finish. Beautiful presentation, delicious combinations, nice little touches. If we lived in Edinburgh, this would be a “go to” for us. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
