I have just come out of the restaurant and I had to write this review because fooled by other people review I tried this restaurant. Let's start with the service: non existent, the restaurant was mostly empty and we had empty plates on the table and nobody was taking them away, they didn't even set the table correctly the cutlery was almost threw on the table. The waitress didn't even know what liqueur they had. No word honestly. The food was average, the kalamary were obviously the frozen type and not even the good one, the main course we're nothing special. This was my first and last time in the restaurant!

First day at the Edinburgh fringe and my first meal. The service here is first class, the staff are friendly, attentive and polite. My starter of prawns in a buttery lemony sauce served with loads of fresh bread was excellent. The main course was a little bland for my taste. Overall recommend.

If what you want is friendly service and a good basic lunch you could do a lot worse than patronise Verdo. Visited for a late lunch, menu is limited but the BBQ style meats were very flavourful and portions generous. Missing a star because we ordered a mixed meze plate for two as a starter and the four or five splodges of different shades of white yoghurts/curds etc was underwhelming to say the least...but the bread and beer were delicious.

I am not an expert on Turkish food, but I loved our meal at Verdo. The food seems to me like good, fresh,, wholesome, home cooking.

Despite booking a table 3 days in advance , there was no table reserved and we had to wait over 45 mins to get a table. It's not always about the food but the overall experience and clearly we set off with a bad start!

Having said all this , the food started to arrive and it was nothing but fantabulous. We were offered some complimentary starters in addition to the ones we ordered and it was absolutely divine. The pain of having to wait for a table for over 45 minutes has been overshadowed by the exceptional quality of food.
The lamb ribs was a treat and it's a must to visit place for salad visitors.
In summary I think it's fantastic food and we loved it whole heartedly.
