Description: Tucked away on Thistle Street, Iris has been a welcome addition to the Edinburgh restaurant scene. This chic little bistro - with its designer wallpaper, banquette seating and rough stone walls – has an intimate, cosmopolitan vibe, and is popular with a discreet and sophisticated creative crowd. The modern European menu is guaranteed to impress, we love the roast duck breast with fresh raspberries and Drambuie; chicken supreme stuffed with langoustines served with a garlic and herb buerre blanc; and the roasted quail with spicy potatoes served with an orange and rocket salad. Ideal for stylish working lunches, and informal evening meals, Iris also has an extensive wine list with up to 17 bottles for under £20.

A very nice place to eat but the drinks are a bit pricey. A good choice of menus make it a pleasure. Good atmosphere inside. All in all a nice lunch today.

Ate recently at this city centre restaurant on Thistle Street. We had two courses each, three out of the four were fish. Some interesting side dishes too. We felt that the meal was quite rich, but it was very tasty. Wine list quite pricey though, but food well priced.

I found this lovely little restaurant on Open Table and it sounded interesting, so I booked it for myself and two friends for dinner. What a wonderful find! There was only one hostess/waitress, and she couldn't have been more efficient. A very welcoming atmosphere, and lovely food choices. Such a wonderful place; delicious and warm and comfortable. We would have gone back the remaining two nights, but wanted to try other places. What a wonderful place with really good food, couldn't have been better
