“Charming flat in quiet residential area, central to University”
Reviewed 13 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This spacious and comfortable, 3 bedroom flat is centrally located to the epicenter of University life....University of Napier is nearby; University of Edinburgh is a 10 minute walk across the verdant green Meadows park, and Pollock Halls is a 20 minute walk. It is located in the Marchmont area and is in a very quiet residential community, filled with both families and students. Bus routes are #24 & #41 ( with stops at the end of the block); taxis are easy to catch as well. At the corner stop are coffee shops, casual and gourmet restaurants, a fishmonger, ATM, and grocery.
Warrender Apartment is a lovely bright and airy 3rd floor Georgian flat, with high ceilings and many original architectural elements preserved (leaded glass door, mouldings, fireplaces, doorbell, huge windows), and views of Edinburgh Castle through the kitchen and back bedroom. It is immaculately clean (even the windows sparkle), has wifi, is furnished with comfortable beds and bed linens, woolen carpets and throws to cuddle under in a chilly evening. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes, cooking utensils, pots & pans, glasses, tea, coffee & sugar. Gas fireplaces are in every room (in early September, we did not use them). The flat is thoughtfully and charmingly decorated, including a gracious welcome basket!
Great attention was given to details in the furnishing and decorating of this apartment. We loved the warm colors of the walls in the parlor and entryway. Live plants throughout the apartment, board games, movies, flatscreen tv, dvd player and books all lent this apartment a homey-feel. We had everything we needed for a very relaxing and enjoyable 10 day stay, including instructions on how to operate the heating system--and a hair blowdryer. We did not use the washing machine, ironing board, dishwasher, freezer, or sewing box-- but it was great to know our needs would have been covered!
The 3rd floor location gave the apartment great views; the beautiful original circular marble staircases and tiled stairwell were exquisite, yet might be a challenge for elderly or infirm travelers.
The owners did an exceptional job of communicating with us throughout all aspects of our booking: enquiry, pre-booking, confirmation, arrival and departure. They were responsive to all questions we had about their apartment and offered to come over if necessary to alleviate any concerns.
Kudos to the Gibson! We enjoyed your darling apartment and appreciated your professionalism and excellent service. Thank you.

“Couldn't be better...”
Reviewed 16 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Four friends and I stayed in the Warrender Apartment on 12th-15th July 2013 - it turned out to be an excellent base from which to explore Edinburgh.

The aparment is situated in a quiet area of the town with little through traffc, just a short walk from the Meadows, and lots of parking in front of the block which is free at weekends. The apartment itself is situated in one of the light and airy Tenement blocks with high ceilings and large windows. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and clean furnishings - free wifi, an essential these days, rainy day activities such as board ganes and films which thankfully we didn't need, plus lots of extra little touches that made it a real home from home during our stay. Peter, who met us at the property to hand us the keys and show us around, was helpful and polite, the communications before our stay were detailed and informative and the little welcome gift basket a real bonus. Should we come back to Edinburgh we will stay here again without hesitation.
