“you'll be begging the travelodge next door for a room!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013

I've never felt compelled to leave any sort of feedback against any hotel before, but after booking a night at this metro inn i've found myself needing to warn others against staying here.

£25 a night does not warrant a filthy room, covered in stains from ceiling to carpet. It was horrific to find blood stains on the base of the bunk bed which ran above the head of our double bed. The 'non smoking' room stunk to high heaven of cigarettes, had a yellow stained smoke detector and ceiling, and jokingly came with an ash tray on the window sill! If you dared touch anything in the room your fingers felt sticky and there was a hole in the wall!

The room we booked was a double with a shared toilet. The toilet is a tiny cupboard in the wall of the hallway, with only standing space. I had to use the facilities in the pub next door! The receptionist was obviously very used to horrified customers and was in no way sympathetic or helpful.

the employees must be embaressed to work there.

glad i've had hepatitis jabs

Company booked my room

Very small / tiny cell of a room, uncomfortable bed and no en-suite facilities so I wouldn't recommend using the tiny sink in the room!!!! Wouldn't stay here again..........................

Visited on a friday night to break a journey from the Midlands to Skye, and then again the following saturday night on the way back.
Fourth time i've used this particular hotel. It was previously a 'formula 1' hotel.
Standard rooms are 'continental' style double and bunk, with showers & loos along the corridors, and also ensuite doubles, or twins.
On this trip we booked one of each.
Considering the price, i was once again very impressed.
Rooms are small, and this is reflected in the cost, but were clean with spotless sheets & towels etc. If i had a complaint in this area, it would be a slightly grubby floor in the standard room...
Plenty of parking and i had no concerns over security.
No breakfast, but facilities in reception to sort your own out, plus a couple of vending machines. Twin room had tea/coffee making facilities, and a decent flat screen TV. Standard room's TV was on it's last legs!!!
There's a Travel Lodge, a Premier Inn, and plenty of independant accomodations in the area, but i happily use the Metro Inn due to the low cost. The others certainly won't be twice as good for twice the cost.
Don't expect the Hilton, this is a budget hotel, but where this place really shine's is the customer service. Excellent on the phone, both at the booking line, and the hotel itself. Fast easy check in and out, with knowledgeable friendly staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. A warm welcome after a long drive.
Easy access from the M9, with plenty of choices for eating locally. Takeaway's in both Grangemouth & Polmont locally (Chinese, McD's, Fish n chips etc) and pub/restauraunt in the same carpark as the hotel.
A good night's kip!

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms quieter, but no lift in property.

I arrived very late at night and was welcomed with a very nice smile and welcome.
Checking in was easy ,the room very clean and the nights sleep very good.
This is a budget hotel, which has all of the basics for a good stay.
The bed was very comfortable, and the large tv ,unexpected.
Would be pleased to tell friends and co workers to use this hotel.

Room Tip: There are en-suite rooms.

We booked an en suite room. What a joke. The toilet was actually situated in the show cubicle. The room itself as was small, dirty and smelly. The bed was very uncomfortable. The hotel itself was very run down and had no facilities. We couldn't wait to get out of it.

Room Tip: Don't book a room. There has to be better elsewehere.

I read the reviews before i came n stayed here, i was dreading it to be honest. When we got here we had a good look round bedrooms, toilets and showers. We were really surprised to see that it was actually a formula 1 hotel. After staying the night i thought i would write my own review. And all the reviews i read were not true,

The bedroom: was nice and clean, clean sheets, clean towel, nice comfy bed, clean sink, tv and free view box.

Toilets: were clean.

Shower: clean, best shower ive had in a hotel for a long time, nice and powerful. Ive stayed in more expensive places and had worst showers.

You pay £33 per night, and you cant grumble, i would come back n stay again no problem.

Unforunately there was not chance to book any other hotel beacuse of the festival so this lest under 4stars. When we checked it that was TERRIBLE!!!!
There was not one bad thing because everyting was disgusting and bad! The toilet is dirty, no water! The bathroom ..... I was not brave to try! The room floor is dirty and was not tidy. There were many interesting things on the floor. The smell is disgusting! I do not ant this kind of experience at all in the future!
I absolutely do not recomend!!!

Room Tip: No tip, it is terrible
