Went to the Hideaway today for my sister's birthday lunch and am so glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing. We had lasagne, scampi,Yorkshire pudding and the special fish pie. We all tried each others dishes. It's proper home cooked food just the way we like it!! The staff were very attentive and child friendly. Will definitely be back!!

Felt welcome from the start Service great Meal high quality with touches such as the oatcakes for the starter and the shortcake biscuits with the coffee being homemade which completed an excellent night
Will certainly be back Wish the hosts all the best for the future ahead

Popped in on a wet dreich nite and had a very good quality meal, we had the soup of the day (lentil) which was great, main meal was fillet steaks with pepper sauce, which was to-die-for, mushrooms, tomatoes and side order of onion rings all cooked to perfection, finished off with melt in the mouth toffee cheesecake with ice-cream, service was superb and well recommended, finished off with drink on the sofa, all in all a great nite and a great meal, cheers

First time We have been back at the Hideaway since it was closed some time ago.

We may have been a little hesitant due to the couple of poor reviews however, the people who wrote these must be living on a different planet from the rest of us.

The food is freshly cooked with fresh ingredients, not like many of the local multi national places which seem to use frozen reheated plastic and rubber ingredients with lots of additives to give you a taste. The quality of the food is first class, the portions are of a very good size.
The Home made chips are very very good, certainly not frozen as someone mentioned in an earlier review - what were they talking about ??

The Chef cooks nearly everything from scratch including all High Tea cakes and deserts which are to die for.

With the first class customer service provided from the moment you enter to the moment you leave, we will definetely be returning again.

Don't even bother entertaining the negative reviews as these are obviously written by people who have had a bad day.

Just give them a call and enjoy.

We booked a table for 4 for 5.00pm on Sunday. When we arrived we were taken to our table to discover only high t was served at this time. The high t menu is split into different prices depending on what main meal you choose - If i can remember correctly from £10.50 to £13.50. The choice is limited but a good variety. The food was good, service swift and staff were friendly and efficient. Our bill was £54.00 for 4 with 2 soft drinks and 2 alcoholic drinks. Overall I would definitely return but would choose a time when I could pick from the main menu.

Enjoyed what is becoming a fairly regular drop in for lunch at the Hideaway. The cheaper places are no match for the quality of food and pleasant service - and good size portions! Recommend anyone to try it.

We haven't been for a meal here for a while as the place went downhill under previous owners.
Popped in for luch to try it out.
Thoroughly enjoyed the good quality food, decent portions and reasonable prices.
Drinks, 2 courses and coffe came to £30 for two of us and it was good value for money.
Would like to see the carpark potholes repaired, but this should not detract from what was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
We will be back soon.
