“Lovely Hotel Excellent Value For Money!”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Stayed for 3 nights while visiting Driftland & had a brilliant time.
Rooms & staff were lovely, breakfast each morning included in our price was really good & a lot of options beating any breakfast buffet!
Recommended especially if visiting Driftland only 20 minute drive away

Arrived for an overnight stay. Porter was very friendly. Got us settled in a couple of minutes. Room very clean and spacious. Lovely warm water. Good selection of breakfast. Waitresses extremely friendly. Been there 2 years ago and would definately come back!

You can park in the back and take your stuff up through the bar. Depending on what time you get there, it might seem a little shady when you do it because that bar gets packed. It's a climb to the bar then another climb to your room.

However, the room was QUIET. You could NOT hear anything that was going on downstairs at all (except through the open window in the bathroom). Hot water, good water pressure, very clean, three beds as requested, and friendly staff. No food after 2100, though, so no dessert. The included breakfast is awesome, though, highly recommend.

The Wi-Fi worked until it didn't. The beds were comfortable. There was hot water and water pressure. I can't tell you how much you miss that until you live in a dorm in Ireland for 6 weeks.

We didn't have to pay for parking either because of our stay or because it was the weekend.

Room Tip: Travel light so you carry up less Stay on the weekend and you get free parking

Having stayed here before a year ago I was expecting the same again, sadly it was not too be.

The room I was allocated for the 4 days was a small box room on the top floor, the sloping ceiling meant I could not stand up to us the toilet, and the bed was very small, after a long deliberation they got a better room at a reduced price but that was in need of a good clean.

The staff seem to be just there and lack any real customer care, very little interaction and sense of helpfulness, even to extant of watching you struggle with your cases up the stairs, they are more at home chatting behind the bar and looking after the locals.

I am going back to Dunfermline in August and will not be staying there again.

Room Tip: Saturdays nights they have the sing song, do not expect to have peace and quite till late in the eve...

I have stayed in this hotel, been for nights out and family meals. It used to be really good but it has went downhill over the years, last time I went with sons for lunch the food wasn't that great my son found a hair in his fish :-(

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't face main road

Have been going to Weavers restaurant regularly over the past few years and sadly the food quality and quantity has been gradually reducing over the past 6 months. Whilst the staff used to be very friendly and the benchmark for other establishments they appear to have been instructed to be less so. To make matters worse they have changed from proper chips to cheap 'Mcdonalds' type chips. For any chip dishes such as fish we now go to the pub next door. From being regular customers we now go occasionally and would no longer automatically recommended Weavers.

Good location. Good value for money. Great customer service. Good reasonable priced food. Value for money. The only issue was the locals - very loud, brash and abusive to non locals. Shame as the hotel is a bargain and the service is good.
