My friend had talked about a golf trip to Scotland for some time. Since I've known him for 45 years, I figured I could trust him to make arrangements. He got a list of tours off of the Scottish tourism site and e-mailed away. He narrowed down the responses by their tone and degree of helpfulness. We also wanted a driver. From the beginning he had a really good feeling about Maureen. We wanted to play some nice Scottish golf courses in addition to one famous course. We also wanted to visit some distilleries. Maureen asked what level of accommodations we wanted and offered some choices. So he booked. Enter David.

He was not just the driver, he was our companion and guide. Recently retired from finance, he is now doing what he obviously loves to do, meet and interact with people from all over the world and introduce them to beautiful Scotland. It didn't hurt that he was just a little bit older than us and an avid golfer as well. From ancient Scottish history, to Robert Burns, to golf in Scotland, to historic castles, single malts, the ongoing Libor scandal, there wasn't much he didn't know something about. Move over, Rick Steves!

I usually go on very small preplanned tours with less than 20 people. No buses, no large groups, and definitely no cruise ships for me. This custom, personalized tour was a revelation and convinced me that this was the best way to see a foreign country. The only thing that David didn't "arrange" was the friendliness of the Scottish people we encountered. Having met many British over the years, who are usually friendly but a little reserved, I was surprised at the outgoing nature of the Scots. I wish we could have spent another week.

Maureen seemed to have communicated our interests in a seamless manner with David. No wonder. They've been married for 41 years!

In conclusion, I'm sorry to say that I can only give Cameron Tours 5 stars. That's because Trip Advisor doesn't allow 6 stars!! Go to Scotland with Maureen and David!

Well organised tour across Scotland seeing lesser-known beauty spots as well as the more famous ones. Excellent organisation including arrangement of appropriate accommodation.
Good driving in a nice new mercedes minibus with two friendly and knowledgeable guides. Best of all, they were always willing to be flexible to our tastes, desires and needs so we didn't feel under any time pressure at all.
Highly recommended.

Wonderful job

We had the most delightful day tour, guided by Dave Cameron, a fine gentleman in a kilt who went far out of his way to show us the beautiful hidden away places in Scotland. We got much more than we expected from our day tour: we saw more than we had planned, we were taken to a picturesque sea-food restaurant off the beaten track and we were generally entertained by Dave who was so enthusiastic in showing us delightful Scottish scenery, bluebells and all. We plan to come back and visit Scotland again with Cameron Tours.

The best way to experience Scotland. Brilliant in everything. Our guide, Dave, looked after our group very well indeed. The accommodation and recommendations for restaurants and eateries were excellent value for money, the sights were breathtaking, and to top it all off the whisky was as one would expect: sublime and everywhere. I could not recommend Cameron's highly enough.
