Upon a recommendation from a friend who also went on a tour with them in 2010, we booked a 5-day tour of Scotland with the Camerons as a family of four. And it turned out to be one of the greatest trips of our lives.

Maureen was always accessible during the planning process and all of the hotels and B&Bs she'd booked for us had excellent service and were centrally located. In one particular case where it wasn't, Dave gave us a ride to and from our accommodation for our dinner so we didn't have to worry about transportation.

Aside from being an excellent driver and guide, Dave is an incredibly nice Scotsman with a love and passion for his country. He's extremely knowledgable which also meant that we got to see places we would've most likely missed on any other ordinary tour. He took us to both popular destinations as well as some more off-the-beaten-path hideaways. And never once did we get caught up in crowds or queues during the high tourist season.

Dave was also very helpful in accommodating our needs and requests. When my mother expressed her interest in glass works, Dave suggested that we visit a glass factory and even booked a paperweight making session where she got to make her own alongside a skilled glass maker while my sister got to take up some glass painting. And this was only one of the many interesting things we got to do during our tour!

Overall, it was a very interesting, flexible, no-pressure tour with an amazing guide, and a great experience overall! Thank you!

When we were planning the trip to Scotland ( the trip of our lives), we were very confused as we didn't know much of the country. Also as we are a family of five with totally different interests, two almost teen girls interested in sports, a three year old interested in animals and nature, my husband very interested in visiting distilleries, and having good food, and my interests were to visit the castles and some Scotland history.
I thought it was going to be impossible to fill the expectations of everyone but after searching a lot, thanks God we found Cameron Tours.
Since the first contact we had we knew that Cameron tours was the one. And we didn't went wrong, they planned the perfect trip for all of us, it was amazing!!!!!!!
My teen girls loved the walks, the tree track, the shopping, all the nessy stories, my little three year old had the best time watching the highland coo's ( Dave stop the car every time he saw the coo's) the shepherd dogs, my husband eat much better than in France, taste the best whiskies and love the oysters! and for me I felt in love with the Eilean Donan Castle and the steam train.
Dave was a wonderful guide he drive us so safe (is very important in Scotland to know well the roads) through all Scotland.
We definitely recommend Cameron Tours.

Definitivamente lo mejor para conocer Escocia, se siente uno en familia con Cameron tours ademas de ser lo mas seguro para conocer ese magnifico y encantador país.
Dave y Maureen los mejores guías!!!

When I was planning a trip to Scotland to visit some distilleries & see the Scottish countryside... One of the best decisions I made was to Tour with Cameron Tours of Scotland! They assessed our interests and even changed plans last minute & I was able to get everything and more than expected from our Visit to Scotland. I enjoyed it immensely! Dave, our driver was a virtual historical encyclopedia... He also told jokes, sang folk songs, and filled the space between destinations with stops and scenery that would never have been seen without him. They tailored everything to our desires and added so much more to out trip. Scotland was beautiful & we had the trip of a lifetime, with several moments never to be forgotten being supplied by Cameron Tours. We had troubles with our airline & that was the low point of our vacation, but the tour with Cameron Tours of Scotland was definitely a high point of out trip. Whenever we go back, they are our friends in Scotland and they will be the ones I trust to plan a great vacation for us! Thank You Dave & Maureen! You made an anniversary trip into something we will talk about for years.

I just want to say what a fabulous time I had with Cameron Tours on my recent trip away, I had the trip of a life time in that I travelled for nin weeks and I did two Trafalgar Tours and some time alone before I hooked up with Dave (my extremely knowledgable and funny, kilted Scotsman) driver for my personalised tour of the Highlands of Scotland.

From the moment I found Cameron Tours on the internet and had that initial contact with Maureen, I felt that there was family looking after me, that I wasn't just another number to add to the books. I mean this was my first time ever overseas, I was to be travelling alone and although I had very srong ideas of what i wanted I was also flexible.

As I'm not a control freak but like to know what it is I am getting for my money, Maureen was excellent at setting my mind at rest, afterall she tailors the trip to my specifiications. Maureen can only put forward suggestions based on what I've told her, so if I forget to say then that is my fault. However I knew what I wanted, I wanted the Highlands of Scotland, I wanted to walk in the footsteps of my ancestors, I wanted to see what they saw. I also wanted Castles and history and the Loch Ness monster ,,, lol.

I did worry that I was a lone person and that the driver Dave (who is Maureens hubby) was going to be stuck woth me for like teo and half weeks - egads what if we didn't rub along well together? Not a worry, I was made to feel like part of the family, I was even ncluded in a private family function at Castle Culzean for Maureen's Dad's 90th and at no time did I feel like an odd bod, the whole family embraced me and for this I am truly grateful and thankful, it really added another dimension to my trip.

From that first day and numerous emails Maureen set my mind at rest and she even got me to call to advise her when I arrived in Edinburgh whic was two days before my tour really started. Both her and Dave came up to Edinburgh to meet me and this was fabulous as who does that? It really helped me get to know both of them and I had no worries when I would meet Dave in two days time for the trip. I even got an impromptu walking tour of Edinburgh - no cost and let me give you the tip, Dave knows oodles about Scotland, ots history and its people and he has that wonderful Scottish brogue that makes you just want to keep asking questions so he'll keep talking.

During the time with Dave I saw so much and yet I know there was so much I have yet to see, so I guess I shall just have to come back. We had many wonderful moments travelling the roads together and I recall those times with laughs, especially a moment in Skye. "Have you seen Harry?" means nothing to anybody else and I hope he tells the story to other clients as it is a giggle and I hope they find it so.

I had a mixture of B and B's and hotels and I have no problem with any of them, except maybe one but that wasn't their fault, it was the hotel's and I survived afterall you only sleep there, its the days that are the eventful part.

Dave is an excellent driver and guide, he gives you little tidbits that enhance your experence and gives you tips on where the best places to eat or buy certain things. Relaly anything you need, jsut ask Dave and he wont set you astray. I've learnt not to add coke to my scotch and to add just a wee drop of water to enhance the flavour and make it smooth.

I have huffed and puffed my way to places that I thought I just can't do it but Dave keeps to your pace even though he'd probably be a super power walker and offers to go in your place but I couldn't let him so I'd go as well and WOW Plodden Falls from below glad I did that.

I loved the home stay visit feeding the baa lambs and the very gifted children of Shona and Charlie MacDonald who had a hand in making my 50th birthday one I shall never ever forget. I loved falling asleep and waking up to Ben Nevis from the honeymoon suite of Tree Tops. Wow, the steam train ride on the Jacobite train, totally awesome and the ferry rides to the various palces such as Raasay were breathtaking, such scenery left me in awe and never without my camera.

Around every corner another sigh, another "Oh how beautiful is that!" or "How pretty" I loved the drive arcoss the Cattle pass really skinny roads and tight bends but I'll never forget it and I have oodles of pictures.

I can't thank Maureen and Dave and their family for giving me such wonderful memories of my 50th birthday and my rtime in Scotland. You became like family and I bawled like a baby when we parted and then later in my room when you'd gone such a sook you've never seen. To me this means that you meant the world and gave of yourselves so I could have a fabulous time and I can never say THANK YOU ENOUGH.

So if you are looking for a fabulous trip that in effect you design yourself but that is then enhanced by the shared knowledge and experience of people who really know and care about their homeland then this is for you!! Just remember you get out of it what you put in, so if you don't have a good time then that is pretty much your fault as these wonderful people will go all out for you.

Special note, the BBQ's in the car parks and the solo bagpipe concert were highlights, oh gosh so many highlights, we had such wonderful weather, it was brilliant.

I fully and totally recommend Cameron Tours to all and sundry as I certainly shall travel again and I'm sorry but I've adpoted myself in as part of the family so they are not getting rid of me.

Love to you both and much success for your ongoing business.
Regards,
Debbie xxx

My wife and I have just returned from a week touring the Highlands and Western Isles with Dave of Cameron Tours of Scotland. I had read good reviews on trip advisor, which were massively favourable. The reviews are no exaggeration and I can only echo the comments that previous reviewers have made.

From the first contact with Cameron Tours in Scotland, through the excellent Maureen, the whole experience was a pleasure. You certainly feel, that you are being given personal treatment. The itinerary was in great detail and when I suggested a change in it, there was an immediate favourable response. Normally, organising a tailor-made tour, can be a chore, but dealing with the super efficient Maureen, made this a pleasure. I cannot over emphasise, the importance of having a good administrator, and in Maureen you certainly have one!

Dave, our driver, met us from Edinburgh airport and from the first moment that he greets you in his tartan kilt, you know that you are in the presence of a character. He was unrelentingly cheerful, knowledgeable and most of all helpful. From the moment we met him, it was like meeting a friend not an impersonal tour manager. He could not do enough for us and when it was mentioned that I had a weak back, I never had to pick up the suitcase again during the holiday. At night, if the accommodation was away from a restaurant, he would make a point of calling back and collecting us, so we did not have to arrange a thing ourselves.

Dave's passion for Scotland and its history, was evident throughout and I found our conversations, enhanced the whole touring experience.

If you want to deal with friendly, professional and helpful people to take you on a tailored tour of Scotland, then I would certainly recommend Cameron Tours of Scotland.
