“This place has changed over the years but still holds firm”

We've been coming here for years and it's a firm family favourite. Although it wont always but top quality looking food and drink, it will quench you for a reasonable cost.
The home made food is always the nicest anyway and much prefer this to a Costa or another chain shop.
Long may this place exist.

My idea of bliss! Always go here if I am looking for a break from shopping. Homemade soup always delicious, sandwiches made fresh and the cakes are fantastic. Very different and quirky. Love it.

Lovely, little cafe with delicious cake! I have visited here a few times and have been impressed every time. Its a nice change from the big chain coffee shops in the town and the quirky, vintage vibe is just what Dunfermline needs - something different. Will be back.

We decided to pop in yesterday for a coffee and scone. Firstly we were "greeted" by a rather sullen man. It felt like he had just had a "domestic" with the woman who was working and the atmosphere was rather frosty. no smiles from anyone apart from a young girl who did at least have a smile. I don't expect jokes and conversation, but a little smile and a thank you is not much to ask for these days!!!

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your visit to The Whistlestop. As you have already recognised and indicated, most of our customers do.
Of late, we have experienced a series of unavoidable, technical difficulties within the premises. This has, naturally, added to the significant demands of delivering a quality service from a hugely popular, busy, small, family-run tearoom.
Whilst anyone can have 'an off day', there is, however, no excuse for unprofessionalism. We apologise if you feel unappreciated as customers, or were offended in any way by the attitude or behaviour of any member of staff. We hope that you return to The Whistlestop on another occasion so you may fully enjoy the level of hospitality that is normally offered to all our customers. Thank you.
