This hotel was fine but for minimal expense I think it could be improved. When we went to breakfast on Saturday morning there was virtually no food left in the buffet and the remaining tea and coffee was cold. The young staff on duty were excellent and made sure we had fresh food and drinks made straight away. Full marks to them. The hotel is just a little tired and could use some TLC. Fairly priced and perfectly acceptable.

There is nothing wrong with this hotel just really starting to look old and worn these days. breakfast is good staff friendly and polite rooms are clean. It is average as you will find better but can do a lot worse. It is simply the decor and the rooms looking tired!

travelled by rail to this Peel Group hotel.Located out on the ring road so perhaps more suited to car tavellers. However, a warm welcome from all staff.Hotel perhaps in need of some updating. buses past the door every few minutes meant it was ok for getting around.Room was rather small (one bed against the wall).Restaurant was excellent...very good food.....no menu change though...... these breaks are absolutely first class value for money .... and we would visit again... Edinburgh 12 miles/the coast less than 10 miles/plenty to see and do.The old town of Dunfermline is a lovely place with the abbey and a wonderful park (courtesy of th phialnthropist Carnegie)

We booked this hotel through their Gold Voucher deal (I think it was in late summer) for a wee break just after the New Year. The hotel is fine and near Dunfermline town. The dinner and breakfasts were not as good as I expected. I had lamb the first night, and even though I asked if it was lean before I ordered, it was quite fatty. The next dinner was chicken with haggis. Unfortunately, it looked like chicken soup as there was so much liquid and did not look appetising at all. The hotel was very quiet - at dinner there was only another couple seated. At breakfast - only 3 tables were occupied. I found the atmosphere rather depressing, maybe the time of the year didn't help. The spring or summer may be busier.

My family and I went there for christmas lunch and all I can say is...never again!! My parents had turkey and they said it looked and tasted awful, as did the gravy. The roast potatoes weren't crispy at all. The meal was also lukewarm when it arrived on the table. I had the fish and crayfish sauce, and it was also lukewarm!!! I could hardly cut through the fish as the skin on the botton side of the fish was so tough! The sauce tasted like it had come out of a packet. It was bland, and did little to compliment the fish which was also tasteless. Christmas pudding and custard were also ordered, and the custard looked and tasted awful. It was like water!! My relative was also disappointed with her cheescake. She told me that it was was poor quality, too soft and virtually tasteless. We waited for tea/coffee for 15 mins after our meals, but were never offered any. The highlight of the day though was a visit from santa. My kids loved it. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. What let it down was the food on the day.I'm sorry to say but we were very disappointed, considering it was expensive and we went there as a family. Won't be back.
