we visited this bar for a quick drink before going for a meal. The bar staff were very pleasant and friendly and the lounge was very clean, quiet and tidy.
We could not believe the drink prices in the bar. Not quite half the price of elsewhere but very close to it.
Again I have to mention how pleasant, well mannered and helpful the barman was. The coffee was excellent
Will remember this place next time, now that i know where it is

Not a great menu mostly jacket type potatoes and burgers for food. Friendly little place though. Staff are very good and helpful

Great traditional pub, clean, cosy and comfortable. My wife and i like to come in before and after an afternoon shopping. Always looks busy but the service is quick and the girl (fiona) always has a yap with everyone coming and going. One of the best in the town i would say. Foods basic, but for a coffee/pint and a paninni its reasonable, i think a full food service would ruin the traditional pub atmosphere its got.

The last time I had a burger this bad was at a fairground. First the burger itself-slimy processed meat with a predominantly salt taste. Then the accompanying salad, to be given a salad with lettuce going brown is just unacceptable in this day and age.
The pub itself seemed ok but I would suggest that you stick to drinking if you visit.
