My wife an I visited Maya's on Friday 12th July. The building is new with very impressive decor, the layout inside is excellent and their are nice touches like the picture window allowing a view of the very clean and busy kitchen. The restaurant has only been open for a couple of weeks and it might be expected that the staff would go out of their way to be friendly and efficient - and they were. The complimentary popadoms and spiced onions arrived like magic.
We had starters - the onion bhaji was good but the Lahori Seekh Kebab was the best sheek kebab I have ever tasted. The chicken karahi, the chicken jalfrezi and the garlic naan were also excellent. All of this with side dishes and a bottle of wine came to a little over £50 - and no annoying service charge imposed on the bill. One thing that I found reassuring was that when a nearby table was vacated it was completely cleared and cleaned before being re-set.
Altogether an excellent meal in excellent surroundings. We will definitely be back and will be recommending this establishment to friends. Well done to all staff for making this en enjoyable evening.
