The owner and his wife are hands on, working right along side of the large staff. We didn't realize who they were until well into our four day stay. Friendliness of the entire staff, cleanliness, attention to detail, and to the needs of guests, hallmark the hotel as one of the best we have experienced. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was excellent and served in a fine dining atmosphere. The grounds are lovely with a garden-like setting The hotel is convenient to most of the attractions in the area, including easy, quick rail service to Edinburgh.

Chosen quite by chance Garvock House was a quiet haven after a hard day at the Royal Highland Show. We felt truly welcomed by all staff, accommodation was good, food excellent as was the service. Definitely one to revisit if occasion arises.

I attended the Garvock for the fourth time this year and again it was superb. The rooms were first class and the staff evry courteous and approachable. We gathered with friends and booked 27 rooms and had my step daughetrs wedding there and Sharon and Colin also stayed the night and this helpe to coagulate the 120+ guests in the beautiful, airey function suite. The food is second to none and I like my grub. The wedding fayre was as we requested and you could almost hear a pin drop as the guests were silenced by the need to eat such a glorious meal. Well done to Rui and Pamela who were always on hand to assist. Also to the staff in the morning who catered for our breakfast need and to "big Scott" our MC who was great all day. We've had lunch a few times as well and the standard of food and quality is wonderful. Well worth a visit. Thanks for making the day so special. Andy Madge Janice and Tommy

This hotel is exceptional in most aspects.

The only thing that really annoyed me about this was the formality and the length of time it takes to actually get your food. I waited nearly 60 minutes one night for chicken stuffed with haggis and 45 minutes for medium roast lamb. Granted the food was out of this world, especially the haggis stuffed chicken but as a solo traveller the time just dragged till I received the food.

Every other part of the hotel was good apart from my bathroom. In many places the tartan (nice touch) was starting to peel off the wall. A small niggle but this is just lazy.

Housekeeping was OK.I did have to pull a few strands of hair out of the bath (they didn't even match my hair colour!!!)

Sort these small niggles out and I would happily give the hotel 5 out of 5, but with these small niggles I can't justify this being better than some other places I have stayed

I could not be more pleased with my experience with this Hotel. The place was immaculately kept and the service was superb.
I stayed at this lovely hotel with a friend for a recently wedding, which was held at the Hotel as well.
The Wedding reception was wonderful. I was very impressed by the level of service throughout the day.
But what impressed me was, that in a day where customer service is sorely lacking in so many places, this place is over-the-top in customer service. The wait staff in the dining room as well as the lounge were superb! Over and over we were treated to friendly smiles and a warm hello.
The rooms are nicely decorated and the en-suite baths were very clean. Ours was a comfortable room with a view of the rear gardens.
The setting of the Hotel was beautiful as well. Gardens filled with beautiful flowers, manicured lawns. The site was just lovely.
And did I mention the customer service??? I would highly recommend this hotel.
