A great place to stay, it has all you need, not a five star hotel but clean, tidy and comfortable. Only gripe I would have is the breakfast was not piping hot. The food in the evening was wonderful and a great choice was available. Staff were friendly. Will defiantly stop there again.

We had our wedding at the LAUREL BANK on the 31st August 2012, I could not recommend this hotel, Shaun and his staff highly enough. Shaun was very professional from the beginning from planning until the actually day. Everything was perfect. the hotel was booked out for our guests and ourselves to stay over, the room were perfect and very clean , this hotel should have at least a 3 stars

We stayed her for two nights for our friends wedding, the hotel was really clean and friendly, The first night we were a party of 18 for dinner, lovely food served by really nice helpful staff. The wedding reception was held here and not one person had any complaints. Shaun could not do enough for us, from check in, breakfast, daytime, night time it was brilliant. The staff serving breakfast and the bar staff were lovely, would recommend !!

Stayed for one night while going to a wedding nearby. Staff were very friendly & helpful with our early check in request, the room was a good size, clean & comfortable. The lack of reception desk was not a problem as there was always a member of staff on hand to help out. Very good value for money.

We stayed here for three nights for a friend's wedding in Glenrothes. The staff were friendly and helpful, but placed us in the honeymoon suite, directly above the main bar. This meant that we had a clean, modern and fairly lovely room but one that was incredibly loud at night. The room was massive and the decor pretty tasteful but we could not get over how noisy it was.

On the plus side, there is an RBS ATM just across the road. The breakfast was tasty and bar friendly. The shower and toiletries were decent too.

Room Tip: Ask for something far away from the bar. We were above it and that was LOUD!

I'm sure that there are legitimate reasons why this establishment can call itself a hotel but in essence it's a pub with rooms. There's not a real reception area - just a pull down bureau that is manned by the nearest memberof the bar staff that you can catch. There's no lift so be prepared to schlep your cases up three flights. The decor is early 1990's (dark busy wallpaper) that's just gloomy.
The rooms have been modernised more recently but the scuff trails across the wooden floors ruin any sense of it being well done. Our room was tiny for a family room and the mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable - every spring was straining through the fabric and we woke feeling as though we'd hit every one. There was in-room tea and coffee but the kettle hadn't been emptied (it's the small stuff that really niggles.)
The food is in the bar and it's average pub grub. However, ask questions if you need your food prepared in specific ways. Under the category 'from the grill' it turned out the steaks are pan fried because they haven't got the right grill(!) Breakfast is a bit odd - no menu, no apparent fresh fruit. When we asked what was available we were asked what we wanted. Guessing at what may be available added a new and unique challenge to ordering breakfast that I've not experienced at a hotel before..
The staff were friendly and did their best but this place is not better than a pub with rooms. If it'd been £45-50 I wouldn't have written in these terms but £75 per night was way overpriced. We were booked for 2 nights but left after 1. The thought of returning there was too depressing. And yes we were charged for the 2nd night but sometimes life's too short to be that uncomfortable...

Stayed overnight after a wedding reception. Clean fresh room, comfortable bed and lovely new shower room. There was plenty storage space and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was freshly made and the staff were attentive and thoughtful.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked carpark and was rreasonably quiet even on a saturday night
