Loved that it was next door to the premier inn, had the mealdeal which was booked with our hotel, this was a 3-course meal with a drink and breakfast, £22. Service was quick even though it was quite busy, breakfast was delicious. Would definately eat there again

Eight of us stayed at the Travel Lodge at the other side of the round about. With no breakfast facilities we headed out to the Bankhead Gate for brekkie. The young waiter looked horrified when so many people entered on a quite Monday morning. He politely showed us to our table and left us to it. We had to pay prior to eating never a good sign, however i understand this is the done thing in these places. Upon our approach to the breakfast buffet we were left wondering where the food was. We were confronted with barely enough of anything to feed two of us. The food that was there was an affront to anything like nutrition. Initially there was no coffee mugs for us, they eventually appeared after much raised voices and hanging around. They also put out some more food by which time the whole experience was ruined. This is the type of place that should be looking after potential tourists and visitors to a lovely part of the country however they are failing. After having said all that the manager did refund 1 breakfast per couple but we would happily have paid for a better experience.

Standard looking Brewers Fayre restaurant. Very popular, though I suspect this is more due to the keen pricing and offers than the quality. Standard pub menu selection. I made the mistake of going for the Mexican Buffet which included a thin and sweet Chilli, hard rice and strange little beef enchilladas. Being underwhelmed I went back and collected the components of Chicken Burritos. This was a bit better, with nice tender chicken with detectable spices and soft tortillas. Let down by rubbish salsa. It filled a hole, but wasn't that enjoyable. Perhaps that's why you pay in advance! I'll not be darkening the doors again.

I am a fairly regular visitor (living close by).
I find this to be one of the better quality Bewers Fayre's that I have visited around the UK.

Staff are always helfpul, food is very good quality and they constantly display differing offering for potential diners throughout each week.

I would recommend if you are in the area.
