“Friendly and clean”
Reviewed 23 July 2009

Was slightly concerned that there would be a noise issue at this Premier Inn but did not have any problem what so ever.
Staff were cheerful and helpful , rooms clean, warm and spacious. We ate dinner at the ajoining Brewers fayre and this was a very nice, reasonably priced meal. Breakfasts were amazing all you can eat for £7.50 sounds a lot but we had so much to eat we were bursting at the seams by the time we left .

I used the Travel Inn as a base for two nights whilst visiting a golf tournament at St. Andrews. (The home of golf)

This Travel Inn is exactly what you expect of the brand. It is modern, situated on the edge of town next to the main arterial route and with an adjoining Brewers Fayre pub.

The family room was clean, spacious and well appointed and there was ample free on-site parking.

Although around 20 miles to St.Andrews, the journey was pleasant, along scenic rural roads. The town of Glenrothes is a similar distance from Edinburgh. So if you are intending to visit both destinations this makes for a good base.

Unless you have young children or are pushed for time I would suggest you steer clear of dining in the Brewers Fayre. I used it on the Friday evening and whilst it was very large, a considerable part was not in use apparently due to lack of staff. This resulted in a wait for a table and pretty slow service.

The food was acceptable, fairly good value but rather basic and uninspiring.

All in all a decent experience with a brand where you know exactly what you will get at a reasonably keen rate.

  • Liked — Spacious family rooms
  • Disliked — Uninspiring adjoining pub
