The restaurant was recommended by some friends and family, so we booked a table on Sunday. Upon arrival the restaurant was extremely busy and if we hadn't booked we would have certainley missed out! My daughter had never tried an Indian curry before so I suggested a Korma, (which was served extremely quickly!) she had a mouthful and her exact words were 'WooW' kids can be difficult to please and she was!! The service was quick, the staff very polite and helpful, Myself and my family will definitely be back.

As a family we are extremely appalled and disappointed about this hotel's attitude to familiies with children dining at the weekends. We recently booked for an early family dinner for a significant celebration on a Friday. When the person we spoke to on the telephone to book the table heard in advance there would be children present we were informed that we would be expected to eat our meal in the bar as that is the Hotel’s new policy for children dining at weekends. However, when we said we would prefer to eat in the restaurant, the arrangement was changed so that we could eat in the restaurant. On arrival on the day of our celebration, we were duly shown to our table in the restaurant. I requested to speak to the restaurant manager to enquire about this perceived discrimination against children and was directed to one of the owners. I asked for clarification why children are not allowed in the restaurant at weekends but required to eat in the bar (which I guess means Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and was informed this is Hotel policy and that was how it would be for the future. I and my family then made the decision to leave the restaurant before ordering our meal.

We are appalled this hotel would require children to eat in the bar at weekends. On driving up to the hotel on the day in question we saw several people sitting outside having a cigarette who had come from the bar – most of whom looked the worst for wear. The bar itself was very busy and noisy with some people inside the bar also looking the worst for wear. In addition to the above, also of concern, some of the language I heard coming from the bar is not the type of language any responsible parent would expose their children to.

Why anyone would think it is appropriate to ask children to eat in that environment is incomprehensible. Maybe the foundation for it lies in money but at the expense of a good reputation and customer service? Friends and acquaintances have been aghast and appalled at the policy and have said they will not be dining at the Hotel again. The hotel's policy is at odds with their stated belief that,

A warm and friendly reception awaits you at The Beveridge Hotel in Kirkcaldy.
Families with children of all ages are welcome.

I wrote a letter of complaint about the above and hand delivered it to the Hotel on 2nd April. It is now 21st April and I have not yet received the courtesy of any response.

went with my sister for lunch and we wont be back. had a special offer on 3 courses. the menu looked good and we ordered. our main meal came before our starter and we asked then to take it away, the waitress couldnt speak much english and most of the waiters are the same, it is difficult to converse. and she asked us if we had ordered a starter, mmmmm we got our starter 30 min after ordering. our main meal came and it was the wrong meal, so we had the hassle trying to tell the waitress that it was wrong. main meal came and i couldnt eat it, i ordered chicken korma, it was like eating realy sweet rice pudding with 3 small peices of chicken on it.when the waitress came back to lift the plates she didnt even ask why the meal was not touched and there was no table cheqs anywhere in the room. sweets were very small. we wont be back and i think they need to look at the staff to make sure that they can speak english, i have been in catering for over 20 years.if this place was run right, then it could be a wee gold mine

We stayed for two nights over a weekend. Unfortunately, no one showed us to our room or helped with the suitcases. We had to find our own way up.
We had an executive room which was very good. Lovely large bed (had to ask for more pillows) bright well decorated room, very clean and tidy, no safe which was disappointing. Well appointed bathroom although the door would not close. All in all the accommodation was better than expected.
A selection of cereals, fruit, toast, fruit juices and a cooked breafast. Excellent coffee which was a refreshing change from some British Hotels, The services was fast and very pleasant. We enjoyed breakfast and everything was freshly cooked and tasted good.
We were impressed with the staff in this Hotel they were all extremely helpful and well mannered.
Large car park outside.
We had a room at the back of the Hotel looking out to the sea and the room was quiet, no street noise.
We enjoyed this Hotel and plan to stay there again. Just a few little points need ironing out.
Summing up we thought it good value for money.

Room Tip: Executive rooms at the back of the Hotel are worth the extra money. Lots of space and quiet.

First impressions is a very 1960s looking place from outside and so I had misgivings. But inside it is well furnished. Staff are very friendly, food was good, prices fine, so I would recommend it. Restaurant was busy and that was mid week.

I recently accompanied my husband who was on a business trip and we stayed at the Beveridge Park Hotel in Kirkcaldy.
We were booked for 13 days, and when there was a problem with the original room, the owner of the hotel upgraded us to an executive suite for the entire stay, at no extra cost.
The room was comfortable and relatively quiet.
The bathroom was large with a heated towel rack and new facilities.
The room offered free wireless. There was a hot pot with tea/coffee available as well as an in room hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
The stay came with breakfast every morning, and we were treated like special guests each and every morning by the staff. We generally ate home made porridge (which was heavenly, by the way), but we opted for eggs one morning, and we could have had the traditional Scottish breakfast, but passed on that.
What makes this hotel the most attractive is its proximity to the train station. One only walks around the back of the hotel, crosses the street, and walks a block, and you are in the door of the Kirkcaldy Station.
The area is extremely safe, as it this hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood, directly across from a church and within a block of a very beautiful park.
Rarely does one find such convenience in such a desirable location.
The station runs trains to Edinburgh several times per hour.
I highly recommend staying here.
