Check in quick and simple, room large and clean , bathroom spotless ,beds huge and comfy, asked for a fan for the room at reception which was delivered to room within 5mins , food excellent, good variety for breakfast and evening meals, Hotel very close and easy walking distance to train station.
ALL the staff at this hotel are first rate. They could not do enough for you , Pleasant manner and always smiling .
The only drawbacks are the decor could do with a bit of updating but as i said the place is kept very clean and no lift,(quite a climb to the top floor for elderly quests )

We needed a hotel close to a train station while touring the Fife coast, and this seemed to be the only one. There was no elevator so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs, fortunately only one floor up. Our room was fair - not dirty, but "tired". There was a stain on the box springs that wouldn't have shown if they had covered it with a bed skirt, but the management seemed to take no interest in "keeping up appearances". The room was rather small and seemed more cramped due to a large wardrobe. I don't remember a lot of details because I was not feeling well, but it was very hot and the window only opened a little at the top and there was no fan or air conditioning. My husband went to the bar to buy a ginger ale for me and returned with the smallest can I've ever seen. We ate dinner at the restaurant downstairs (there is really no other choice nearby), and the food was fairly good, with choices limited to Indian or British fare. I ordered ginger ale again and was given the same small can, while my husband was given a huge glass of beer (I would think they could have poured a few cans into a glass, at least!). In the morning we had the free breakfast, and found it was largely buffet style with cold items. Later, after we had almost finished breakfast, a waitress asked if we wanted any hot food, and I ordered oatmeal. While the price was not bad - 65 pounds - I think I would stay in a higher priced hotel in the future and take a taxi to the train station.

Been a few times with friends and really like the variety on the menu, staff have always been nice, polite and very helpful. Currys are great! After our meal we go & sit in the bar area which is nice too.

We were a party of 9 arriving from London early in the morning and before the standard check-in time. On booking, we explained that we were visiting Kirkcaldy for a friend's funeral and that we would like an early check-in to freshen up and change from the flight. The really helpful receptionist, Lesley, checked if this would be possible and although it wasn't she made a note to prepare as many rooms as possible as early as possible so that we could get ready for the funeral. On our arrival Lesley had arranged with housekeeping and rooms were made available to us in plenty of time for us all to get ready. .We also had an early morning departure and so the staff got up early to prepare us a continental breakfast before we set off. All of the staff were really friendly, helpful and made our short stay hassle free.

Room Tip: Room 11 was decorated particularly well

Only stayed one night and it is OK for the price - £60 B&B, which seems average for the area. Whilst the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, they do seem a bit dingy as all wall are painted a dirty purple colour with dark carpets. The bed was comfortable with good pillows and a light fresh duvet. Tea and Coffeee supplied along with TV, hairdryer and iron. Corridors and stairway are painted deep red adding to the gloomy atmosphere.

Breakfast was reasonable with a limited buffet of juice, cereals and bread for toasting. A cooked breakfast is supplied but there no menu - you are just asked if you wanted a cooked breakfast. This is a large plateful of sausage, bacon, haggis, egg, beans, mushroom, tomato and potato scone! Evening meals are also available with a special deal before 7pm. Potions were large, especially the starters, but well cooked and tasty.

Bar is nothing special.

The only big drawback is the noise from seagulls early in the morning!

Very disappointed. Bedroom overlooked the skips so had seagulls scavenging and making a racket all night - had to shut the window because of the noise but then the room was unbearably hot with no AC. Bed was not properly sprung - very noisy with every slight movement and ridiculously soft, impossible to sleep two. Advertised WiFi did not connect in the bedroom - only in the lounge. Hadn't been told outside door would be locked in the evening, so had to call to get someone to open up when we returned after dinner. Staff (excepting very nice breakfast server) should not be in the service industry - completely uninterested.

Room Tip: Make sure you check out the room before you pay.

Spent one night here, arrived later and were attending a wedding in another hotel. Booked a table for dinner, servicewas quick and dinner as a whole was tasty, except the apple crumble which was meant to be with cream or ice cream was offered neither but had to ask for cream was was so dry.
breakfast was alright...we were down just after 9am and was very little left and very little choice. We ordered a tea and a coffee but ended up with two teas!
The website is very misleading in respects to the rooms, was very dark and no light in main room other than an upligher on the floor. Due to the weather recently it's been very warm and room was very uncomfortable to sleep in and this was with the window open. were not offered even a fan.

If you are looking for cheap and cheerful, but maybe check which room you are getting!
