“Average Hotel, but great Food”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

I found the rooms, although recently decorated, dark and dull. Very comfortable though. The staff were friendly. The Indian menu in the restaurant is to be recommended. Great Indian cooking and we were spoilt for choice. Breakfast was fresh cooked and really good. I felt it was a little expensive for the standard.

Been here for lunch a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Choice if English or Indian dishes or mix and match on the 2 course deals. Great value for money.
Staff are always very friendly so you're well looked after.

We chose this hotel as it was near the railway line for Edinburgh. The location couldn't have been better.
On arrival we were offered a shabby room in need of refurbishment and a clean which had a tiny double bed which had stains on. We immediately asked for a different room and were given a far better room which met our needs but still was not really 100% up to scratch.
The majority of the staff could not have been more friendly, accommodating and helpful which was a real pleasure.
The food in the restaurant in the evening was very good. The breakfast was OK with the exception of when the buffet breakfast was put on at the weekend - the quality of the breakfast food was disappointing - cheap orange juice, weak coffee, uninteresting bread etc.
We booked online and received reasonable value - but on the high side for what we got. Had we not been able to move rooms, we would have changed hotels. Had we been charged the full rack rate I would have asked for a discount and complained

I recently returned to Kirkcaldy to follow up some family research. The Beveridge Park Hotel was perfect for me, 2 mins walk from the rail station and library. It is also an easy stroll into the city and bus station. My room was clean and tidy, the staff friendly and helpful, and the lunch and evening meal specials were excellent value. For those readers who enjoy Indian cuisine, the choice of Indian dishes on the menu are to be recommended, the Rogan Josh in particular is authentic and world class. It is not a 5 Star hotel, and doesn't make this claim. What it offers is good value in a central area with friendly service. If you are travelling by car there is ample parking. If you are planning a Fife trip I would recommend the Beveridge Park Hotel as a touring hub. I would also recommend you try the coastal walk to nearby Dysart to work up an appetite for your evening drinks and meal. A less challenging walk is the beautiful nearby Beveridge Park. My only disappointment was the breakfast menu which didn't have kippers, porridge or black pudding. Ah well, just as well my local butcher in Sydney is a Fifer!

Room Tip: The view over the kitchen exhaust is not terribly attractive. Request a room that doesn't overlo...

Check in quick and simple, room large and clean , bathroom spotless ,beds huge and comfy, asked for a fan for the room at reception which was delivered to room within 5mins , food excellent, good variety for breakfast and evening meals, Hotel very close and easy walking distance to train station.
ALL the staff at this hotel are first rate. They could not do enough for you , Pleasant manner and always smiling .
The only drawbacks are the decor could do with a bit of updating but as i said the place is kept very clean and no lift,(quite a climb to the top floor for elderly quests )

We needed a hotel close to a train station while touring the Fife coast, and this seemed to be the only one. There was no elevator so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs, fortunately only one floor up. Our room was fair - not dirty, but "tired". There was a stain on the box springs that wouldn't have shown if they had covered it with a bed skirt, but the management seemed to take no interest in "keeping up appearances". The room was rather small and seemed more cramped due to a large wardrobe. I don't remember a lot of details because I was not feeling well, but it was very hot and the window only opened a little at the top and there was no fan or air conditioning. My husband went to the bar to buy a ginger ale for me and returned with the smallest can I've ever seen. We ate dinner at the restaurant downstairs (there is really no other choice nearby), and the food was fairly good, with choices limited to Indian or British fare. I ordered ginger ale again and was given the same small can, while my husband was given a huge glass of beer (I would think they could have poured a few cans into a glass, at least!). In the morning we had the free breakfast, and found it was largely buffet style with cold items. Later, after we had almost finished breakfast, a waitress asked if we wanted any hot food, and I ordered oatmeal. While the price was not bad - 65 pounds - I think I would stay in a higher priced hotel in the future and take a taxi to the train station.

Been a few times with friends and really like the variety on the menu, staff have always been nice, polite and very helpful. Currys are great! After our meal we go & sit in the bar area which is nice too.
