First time here for lunch and Chef Paul and the staff did not disappoint. Along with a good pub menu, the specials board was also extensive with plenty to choose from. Homemade breadcrumbs and sauces were excellent. We had garlic mushrooms and dip and both loved it and then had the battered and the breaded fish which was moist, with no grease, bones or any imperfections. Huge portions and I had to leave one bit to leave room for dessert. I had a delectable chocolate fudge cake with ice cream and fresh strawberries whilst my friend had a 'munchie crunchie' full of light meringue, toffee, cream and strawberries which we both finished in their entirety. Waited 20mins for courses and restaurant was full of like minded and appreciative people who like ourselves dont mind waiting on something when it's cooked fresh and made to order unlike so many places these days. Staff and proprietor were all attentive and hospitable. Needless to say can't recommend it enough and we will be back.
