“Nothing was too much trouble”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

Ventured to St.Andrews on 2nd January. After a long stroll , we decided to have a late lunch. It took us 15 mins to find this gem as so few restaurants were open and open restaurant were telling you that their kitchen was closed at 3.30pm.
We thought we would take a chance in West Port. We were seated in a lovely booth. The waitress brought the menu over and we looked it over. We decided on the bean burger. Unfortunately this wasn't available. Neither was the vegetarian soup. As my partner is vegan with an egg allergy , we had to ask the server to find out what the chef could make my partner. The manager/supervisor returned with suitable alternatives. The order was placed and the food arrived very promptly.
My partner said the meal was delicious . I had a prawn and crayfish sandwich with chips to replace the vegetarian soup. It was so nice to have a warm meal before venturing home.
The staff could not have been more helpful. The bill was great value for money.
Would like to see a few more vegan/vegetarian options on the menu.

Stayed here for weekend recently with my husband and we were most impressed by the standard of the rooms, large modern bedroom, modern bathroom all spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There was a good selection on the breakfast menu and the food was excellent. The staff were all helpful and friendly, There was some noise from the Bar downstairs but once it closed we had a good nights sleep. Great value for money hotel well worth a visit,

Don't be put off by the price of this place, this wee gem was a shocker to my partner & I. We were just going to stay one night but it was so nice we asked if we could stay another night. I felt like I was staying at a friends house. It wasn't set out like your usual b&b, there were little touches like a DVD player & DVDs, books to borrow, plenty of space for our things & when I ran a bath there was no shortage of hot water.

Staff are very friendly. Especially the guy who checked us in. Big smile & lovely personality. I thought he was the owner as he was so enthusiastic about where he worked. Unusual to see staff as keen as he was on our stay.

Breakfast was spot on both mornings. Really enjoyed it. The brown toast I was given on the first morning was very tasty even though I'm not keen on brown bread.

If we're ever back in St. Andrews I know we'll be booking another room here. One of the nicest places I have stayed. Ticks all the boxes for me.

We decided, very last minute, to go away for the night to St Andrews and just got back tonight. I can truthfully say that was the best nights stay we've had for a very long time. We were met on arrival with a great welcome and shown around the property as you get your own key in case you're in after midnight when the doors are locked. Our room was room 1 which was gorgeous. As you go in the door there is a cloakroom area with a wardrobe, extra duvet chest, ironing board and iron along with a suitcase hold. On the left was the bathroom, extremely clean and fresh with really lovely fluffy white towels and all toiletries supplied. The shower was great! The bedroom itself was really large with bright windows looking out over the main street which was great for a bit of people watching too! We had the best nights sleep in a king size bed and fluffy duvet. Tea and coffee making facilities supplied. The lighting and decor were so tasteful and really homely. Breakfast was from 7am and check out was 11am so plenty time. The food was fantastic, pancakes, bacon and maple syrup and a full English for my husband which looked delicious. Great service and breakfast and checkout by Andy.........now just back to check out when we can return. A great find at a fantastic price! Well worth the visit. Thank You!

Room Tip: Room 1 was fantastic, on the main street but we had no noise or problems at all

Recently had a work night out at the West Port. Great new menu with loads of choice even for a fussy eater like me! Pulled pork to die for. What made it even better were the lovely staff. Nothing was too much trouble, even dealing with our lot! Over all great night would highly recommend.
