I visited here late november with friends for a meal & coffees to catch up. Have to say, the service by the restaurant staff was excellent from the 3 members of staff, (the manageress, a red haired girl & a short blonde lady). The food was lovely, as were the coffees.. Especially the lattes the red haired girl served a few of us! Can't fault their professionalism & teamwork. However, since november we have tried to come back twice more in to the new year & were left disappointed to find the opening times were a lot shorter & we have been too late & found the restaurant closed due to the owner & reception manager's "rules". People do not always eat tea at 4pm, you've lost a good £100+ both times from us & probably a few other potential customers as well! We have not been back since & have no intention to return. The feeling we have been given from the place has left us thinking that the owner/reception manager is not bothered about customer satisfaction at all. Extremely disappointed group of 8 who you have lost custom from!

Thank you for your review and I am sorry you feel disappointed that our opening hours of our restaurant are shorter in November. The holiday park is a seasonal business and as a result our hours are adjusted over the winter when demand is reduced. We make a great effort to keep the restaurant open over the winter months. Most holiday parks close their facilities completely over the quieter winter period.
We hope to see you again at Clayton.

We stayed in one of the holiday caravans for hire for a short break. The modern caravan was impeccably clean and well laid out. The caravan park itself is rated as 5 star and it is easy to see why. The grounds and lawns are immaculate with beautiful areas alongside the River Eden. We walked our dog down to the river and everyone we encountered was friendly and either waved at us or stopped to chat. A real friendly atmosphere. The clubhouse area is also a superb facility and we enjoyed a lovely meal in surroundings that would put most caravan parks to shame.
All in all a superb stay and highly recommended.

Was at the Caravan Park for the St Patricks party weekend. Shared a caravan with 4 of our friends . Lovely and clean & spacious. On the Friday night we went to the clubhouse & played bingo. Had a chill out on Saturday & went to the on site shop for a few things. Ended up buying beautiful hand knitted gloves by the lady ( Jane I think ) who runs the shop. They also have lovely things like customised lamps and gifts with the usual supplies i.e. milk, rolls, bacon etc. The party on Saturday night was amazing ! Sunday we went shopping to nearby St Andrews followed by fish & chips at the world famous fish bar in Anstruther. Was sad to leave on Monday morning. Overall we had a great experience.

Just back for the St Patricks Day party at the park and it was great .Fantastic value, and stovies and soda bread too! 6 of us shared a caravan. The caravan was really close to the club house and was immaculately clean. The park is spotlessly clean. All the staff were wonderful and friendly. What a lovely shop as well, Jane who works in there is lovely! Would definitely go back, had a fab time.

I popped in for lunch with my wife on Tuesday....... I do not consider the meal we had to be either 5 or 4 star standard.... my pastry with the steak pie was a bit soggy and flat and, although I had asked for mashed potatoes rather than chips, when the meal arrived it had boiled potatoes on the plate. A number of ceiling light bulbs need replaced in the dining room..... attention to detail expected in a 5 star establishment. I did not get the "festive atmosphere" when I entered the restaurant.... perhaps the Christmas Tree should be near the entrance and a few festive decorations on the tables.... In a restaurant of this size, I do not think that taking orders on an I Pad creates greater efficiency.... it may be a new system, but too many questions for me when ordering... a waitress taking your order on paper I think would be much better (the old fashioned way". The Gents toilet was very cold with no heating switched on. I am a great believer in providing constructive feed back in the hope that it will help improve the diners experience in the future. Hope this helps.

An amazing caravan on a very well kept site. The van was perfect for our family weekend. The booking staff were extremely helpful and put themselves out as it was the end of the season. The van itself was spotless with everything we needed.

Spent 5 days here staying on a touring pitch. Pitch was hardstanding and had enough room for caravan and awning (although we didn't use an awning). Each pitch has privacy of a hedge in between. Many of the pitches are taken up with permanent tourers so not sure how many are for hire all of the time. There were also around 8 statics for hire from the site, they looked modern and were in a convenient position on the site.

The toilet and shower block was clean and modern. Shower cubicle has area big enough and dry enough to change in after showering. Toilets were also clean and had hairdrier.

There is a small shop selling the basics but it is only open 9-11am. There is a small bar and decent sized restaurant, both well fitted out and modern. The restaurant food was lovely, good variety. Dined there twice. Offered breakfast, lunch, snack and evening menu's as well as coffee and cake throughout day.

There is also a soft play area and outdoor play area.

About 5 miles from St Andrews. Bus stop right outside the site. We cycled into town, good cycle paths.

All in all a great site that can be recommended.
