“Great Beer Garden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2013

Quirky bar dinner....split into several differing areas ...cosy booths ,friendly restaurant, downstairs lounge...and Great beer garden with retractible roof, which can come in handy in Scottish summer and winter.
Family friendly but still has a trendy bar feeling for all ages.
Food always good...and great value.

“Great drinks, nice space, average service and hit or miss food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2013

You need of think of this place like a good pub with a great atmosphere and the best outside beer garden in St Andrews . It's not really the best place to eat but if you stick to a burger then you can't go far wrong . As a local I have used this place for many years and the food use to be one of the best parts, but now owned by a large chain who want fast cheap run of the mill nosh it has really taken it down a notch or three. Please avoid the pudding as these are quick microwave wonders, get an ice cream from Luvians instead. In the summer this place is rammed with customers in the beer garden and it's the largest area you will find in St Andrews for a drink, so be early to avoid disappointment at lunch time. So forget the kitchen and just lie back and enjoy a nice drink with the friendly and overworked staff ( these chains need to make their millions )

“Excellent watering hole, dont try the food!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2012

Good place to hang out with friends and have a pint, but the food is nothing to write home about. Had a botched dish of salmon on my first visit which I initially put down to plain badluck. Recently, I bravely decided to order a burger, and again the west port failed to deliver. the burger itself was dry and tasteless and the buns were of a really strange consistency. Definitely not a place I'd be looking to eat anything in again.

“dissapointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2012

Dissapointed with our sunday lunch here. The meat in the steak pie was fatty, couldnt eat the majority of it. Ordered side dishes , that didnt arrive until mains were finished..Chicken ceaser salad was mediocre... Had a chessecake for desert which was delicious, but served with a dirty napkin, waitress noticed it and turned it over on the table , hoping that we hadnt, or wouldnt notice. !!!!
