A little out of town overlooking St. Andrews and the sea. Small dining room with 2 or 3 course fixed price menu. The selections were varied so it was easy to find something we each liked. The service was very attentive and friendly. The two students were chatty but didn't interfere with our meal. The food was cooked to perfection. If we were staying longer we would have gone back another night.

Great to see The Grange back to its best under the new management. Excellent food and service, on a sunny day or evening there is no better place.

We had a lovely lunch experience here - the service, food and value were all absolutely fantastic. The food was really delicious and one of the best cooked meals I've had in a very long time. I can't recommend this place enough. As others have said, the set menu changes daily but everything we tried was perfect and we will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

The restaurant is an old stone built cottage. There is a welcoming open fire in the bar where there is a fine selection of beers, Whisky and wine. They keep Eden brewery beer (St. Andrews) which is particularly good. The dining room has a lovely view over East Bay. The food is modern Scottish from a menu which offers good choice but is not too big (that always worries me). In between courses you get an Amuse Bouche type palate cleanser. The cheese board is generous and there are several lovely malt whiskies to choose from. Recommended.

enjoyed a meal here last Saturday - the evening menu is a semi set menu in that you chose to take 2 or 3 courses and there are 4 or 5 different starters, mains and desserts. Having selected your starter and main (we sat in the bar area that has 2 fire places although if it was a warm summers evening you can also sit outside) you are then taken through to your table in the light airy dinning room to be served - prior to the starters we were served home made bread and a canape.
The food is beautifully present well sized portions and is sourced locally making good use of the seasonal products - along with my family i enjoyed smoked and gradvalax salmon - the smoked salmon being some of the best i have tasted, ham hough terrine, beetroot salad and then lamb, salmon and guinea fowl, followed by the selection of scottish and french cheese (although there was no french cheese in the selection that we received) and cardoman panacotta - this being the only disappointment as it was served with figs that were either over ripened or had been cooked for too long. The additional surprises from the chef were very pleasant and made the dining experience more special - but the fruity palette cleanser between the starters and mains was a little sweet for our taste
The service was ok, although it took 3 attempts to order the wine and could have been a little better, would certainly not let this put us off returning again and have already recommended to family and friends - this definitely a location for a special occassion but very reasonably priced and good value for money
