Attraction details
Owner description: The Duke's, owned and managed by the Old Course Hotel, is a lush, heathland golf course perched on the hillside just a few minutes from the hotel. Noted in Golf World's Top 100 Courses in the Scotland, this championship 18-hole course has magnificent greens, beautiful fairways, a fleet of electric golf buggies and five tees on every hole, making it most appealing to golfers of all abilities. Don't forget to visit The Duke's Clubhouse, a popular and relaxed dining venue with stunning views of St Andrews and beyond. The award-winning Duke’s Clubhouse offers a hearty selection of traditional food to warm the cockles of any weary golfer’s heart - tune in to the post-golfing analysis over a pint of beer or head on to the deck and catch a few rays of sun with a gin and tonic in hand.

“What Service!”

We were invited by some friends to have coffee there. The service provided, from walking in, to leaving, was just the BEST! The owners should be very proud of their employees.

“American portions”

Just be careful what you order if (like us) you only wanted a light lunch - my husband ordered a club sandwich and got a huge plate ful. It was very good though. My husband says they also do great bacon rolls

“The Duke`s course”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2012

Not an easy course and you need to be quite fit :o)......excellent changing facilities...best I`ve seen. Never had a meal but prices seemed very reasonable with a 2 course Sunday Roast @ £14.95 and served at lovely/neatly set out tables. Would definately recommend it :o)

“Great course, shoddy service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2012

Guy in pro shop treated us like something he'd stepped on. Charged us for one of our party too ill to attend. Needlessly as 2 ball instead of a 3 ball, what's the problem? Member 4 balls wouldn't let us through so we had a pint and bacon roll at the 9th to let 4 ball go ahead. Pro shop guy then gave us grief for coming off the course. Spending money in the clubhouse, the cheek of us! Had to jump ahead to get through member 4 balls, no way these guys would let our 2 ball through, so lost 3 holes. Won't be back and would advise any travelling golfers in the area to take their business to any of the other fine courses in the area who perhaps value guests.
