“Good Course”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

Had a round on Sunday after a wet Saturday evening so course was very wet underfoot. I had played a number of years ago and had not enjoyed the course, I remember it being a long walk, especially 17, course has changed since and much more enjoyable. A good layout, decent greens and nice condtions. Would happily play again, especially at the SGU discount rate on offer at the moment (see SGU website)

“Course is OKAY but not worth the £135 that they are asking”
Reviewed 26 September 2013

Course layout is fine but a bit ordinary considering the other courses in the "Links stable". Old, New and Castle courses are all vastly superior - can't comment on the others as I haven't played them.
Hospitality was good in the clubhouse although atmosphere left something to be desired as there was hardly anybody there - I think that they need to drop the green fee price to get more people in.

“Must play - a welcome change”
Reviewed 12 September 2013

One of the best golf courses in the St Andrews area. Went for a golf outing with friends and had a brilliant day out. From arrival we were well looked after by the staff, from the pro-shop to the starters who gave us a vast amount of useful information about the course and the facilities and some great local banter. Complimentary balls and grass tees at the range were a bonus and our buggies were great too. Although the course is challenging, it was in great condition with the lush fairways and receptive greens. The greens are amongst the best I've played on as they were soft on approach but fast and true when putting. The layout is spectacular making the most of the scenery and views, however, best avoid the rough as it can spoil the scorecard very quickly! The views on the back 9 were fantastic and we were very well looked after in the clubhouse although you do need to be patient with the service of food, however, with the views on the balcony this is not the end of the world. Being brought up on links golf and having frequented the surrounding links courses it makes a welcome change to play at the Duke's and I shall certainly be back. It is a must play for those in St Andrews despite not being links. Go play!

“Golfing fun”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

The course was great and interesting as a non links course. Pro shop service was good however food supply was slow and took over half an hour to arrive which caused some concern as we did not have enough time to practice prior to the round.
