from the moment we stepped out the car we knew this hotel was something special. The gardens are stunning and as soon as you walk into reception you know your at a unique hotel.
My friend and I treated ourselves to a 2 night dinner, bed & breakfast in the Orchard suite.
It was our second choice as the Gilroy suite was unavailable. Very spacious suite set in hotel grounds although room was a bit tired.
We asked if we could possibly be moved to the other suite on our second night as it was newly refurbished and the same price. Not a problem, we were just asked to be packed and everything would be moved. Cannot fault this hotel, everything from start to finish was 1st class service and looking forward to our next visit.

Delighted to read the comments that you have kindly left after the recent visit to the hotel - and it is good to hear that it all went so well from start to finish.

We are grateful to have such a good team of staff at the hotel - and they too are always pleased to see how much their hard work and effort has been appreciated.

Look forward to being able to welcome you back at some point in the near future.

Regards

Stephen

We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at The Rufflets Country House Hotel, St Andrews. It is a beautiful hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast is delicious, with a good range to choose from on the menu, together with a small 'buffet' of cold meats and cheeses, cereals, fruit and pastries. We never experienced tea time, lunches or supper, as we were always busy/out, but no doubt these meals would have been as perfect as breakfast! We shared a family room on the first floor, which had just been refurbished: it included a large master bedroom, a small second bedroom, and a lovely, large bathroom. It was all very tastefully decorated, and very well maintained throughout our stay. Our own 'niggle' was the wifi (free throughout the hotel/rooms), which proved difficult to use in the master bedroom (would continually lose connection), but absolutely no problem in the rest of our room (corridor, bathroom and second bedroom). It wasn't a big issue, though we mentioned and sure it will be looked into by the very accommodating staff.

All in all, we highly recommend a stay at The Rufflets if visiting St Andrews! A beautiful, tranquil hotel - we lived our stay!

Room Tip: We can't imagine that any room will have preference for noise issues etc: the hotel as a whole i...

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts after your recent visit to Rufflets - we were all pleased to see how much you had enjoyed it. The room you had was recently refurbished (along with a number of others) and the 'new' room has been really well received by our guests.

We are looking at the little problem with the Wifi at that end of the house - thanks for letting us know.

Wanted a wee getaway after a busy start to the year and didn't want to go to far. Found this diamond down at St Andrews and the plus side was we were able to take our German Shepherd with us. This was great as after we had dinner and top marks for the menu and the standard of the food was excellent, fantastic evening had where we just chilled out with a glass of wine in front of the fire before we had an early bed.

Great sleep and up walked the dog around the gardens before we ventured over for breakfast and we were not disappointed, we got served a very tasty breakfast before we ventured down the beach with the dog.

Couldn't leave here without saying a big thank you to the staff, they were all excellent and we shall see you all again.

Room Tip: We got one of the lodge rooms as we had the dog, perfect !

Many thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback - we are all delighted to read how much the wee escape was enjoyed. We do have a number of accommodation options in the gardens in which we allow dogs, and they are in great demand.

Hope that you might consider us again the next time you are looking to have a quick 'getaway'!

An excellent weekend retreat. We stayed in the newly decorated Family Room (20) which was very spacious. Other than the need for a few hooks in the bathroom and a shelf for the shampoo in the walk-in shower, we couldn't fault it. The dinner was excellent and the staff were very friendly and informative. Breakfast was also excellent, with excellent service and Rufus was adorable!

We were delighted to read how much you enjoyed the new family suite at Rufflets - it is very new, and the hooks and shower-shelf have not quite made it into the bathroom it is that new!

Good to see that you also received (as do all our guests) the great service - we do have a good team here.

Hope that we will be able to see you again in the near future.

We have now stayed at Rufflets several times and cannot fault it. The staff are so friendly, the rooms are beautiful and the meals are 'to die for'. We have visited many hotels in the area but Rufflets always comes out on top.

Thank you for the kind comments - we do know that we have a wonderful hotel set in one of the best locations in Scotland, but the thing that we do see time and time again are comments on how friendly (and quietly efficient) the staff are - all of which help make our guests' time at Rufflets special.

Hope to be able to see you back sometime soon.

Stayed at the end of February one night DBB and as previously, the room, food and service were first class. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely, warm and comfortable hotel to anyone who likes to be looked after.

Excellent from start to finish. Easy to book and a good value offer. A warm welcome on arrival and a beautiful setting in private gardens. We were wowed by the room. The hotel was very comfortable with a cosy bar. The food was superb and all the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We will be returning.

Dear William

We do like to think that we are in the sunniest part of Scotland - almost as sunny as North Yorkshire!

Many thanks for taking the time and effort to give us your comments - for the most part they are all very positive, but we do look all feedback as it does help us to get better at what we do.

Hope to see you again soon - we cant promise the sun all the time though!
