Great drinks. Super friendly service even for a busy saturday night. Very knowledgeable staff. The fettercairn fior is a great pick for a whisky. The Bow More sours is a lovely cocktail. Delicious pretzels too

A great place for that special occasion drink with the view from the bar being stunning. The atmosphere is relaxed with the service being friendly and efficient.

In contrast to previous comments about poor/slow service, we were pleasantly surprised. It was St Andrews university graduation week so tables were hard to come by. We failed to get in at The Jigger Inn so thought we'd try the Road Hole Bar. They explained that they had a wedding in about an hour but that we were welcome to have drinks. The drinks came in good time, were delicious (try the Mint Julep!) and the waitress phoned another restaurant in town to book us a table. the place was emptying out because of the wedding so we got to sit by the window and catch the great view.

We decided to have a pre lunch drink here with friends, before moving on to the restaurant next door.
It took an age to take our drinks order despite there being lots of staff & very few customers. The girl who served us, then proceeded to walk straight past us with the drinks & took them to the restaurant? We eventually had the drink returned a few minutes later.
The drinks were not put on our bill with the food, we then had to proceed to the bar again to make payment. Not the sort of slack service you would expect from such an establishment.

We are four ladies who decided to go to the Road Hole Bar for champagne and Sunday brunch - it was a special occasion and we were looking forward to our treat.

On arrival we wanted to sit at the window, the view being one of the reasons for choosing the Road Hole bar. However, we were not allowed to sit at the window because a photo shoot was taking place - the photo shoot took priority over us.

After 45 minutes, we had to ask for a drinks order to be taken.

After another significant wait, we had to ask for a food order to be taken. By now we had missed brunch and were informed that we would have to order from the lunch menu. One of the party was served her food a good half hour before the rest of us. When the remaining BLTs arrived, the accompanying 'fries' were cold and shrivelled.

The new start barman was not to be blamed having been left in the lurch without a mentor. A more experienced waiter who came in later was attentive and tried to make amends.

Thankfully we were all able to see the funny side of the situation, but this was far from a 5 star experience . To forget your customers and leave them feeling unwanted is really very poor.
