Owner description: The remains of what was Scotland’s largest and most magnificent church still show how impressive St Andrews Cathedral must have been in its prime. Its museum houses a collection of early and later medieval sculpture as well as other relics found on the site. Spectacular views from St Rule's Tower.

Take the time to walk these ruins...stunning! Beautiful and very easy to see. Try to go on your best weather day as it's all outside.

“Worth a visit- quite amazing ruins”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

If you like ruins you will love this- near the beach (East sands), near St Andrews centre. Large site with some impressive buildings still standing. The family and I really enjoyed it, but only for an hour or 2.

“Saintly”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

A sunny morning, without any wind-what more could you ask for to wander around the greenery and the ruins. There is enough there to give you a feeling of what the Cathedral was like way back in the day.Plenty of information on boards placed throughout to give you that little bit more detail on what you are looking at.

“Lovely spot - worth the trek!”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Even as 4 golfers in Scotland for a bucket list trip, we wondered around this small, lovely town and stopped here for some nice photo's and scenic views. Not a destination really but it would be a real shame to be in St. Andrew's and not make a brief side trip here. We didn't go inside but you can absolutely enjoy the surroundings and use your imagination to envision what once was. Really quite nice and thought provoking.

“Lovely Old Ruins”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

This old cathedral sits on a point of land that looks out to St. Andrews Bay. They have done a very nice job of preservation. Some of our group ventured up the tower and found a great view at the top. The visitor center is very informative.
